I also have experience providing sensitive and trauma-informed care to people with PTSD, autism, ADHD , depression, anxiety, etc.
Therapy can be a powerful tool in deepening relationships, moving through pain, understanding the unknown, and tolerating discomfort. My therapeutic work is rooted in guiding clients to realize their own potential. I develop an empathic, therapeutic relationship with my clients to generate self-directed change. Through meeting you where you are, and helping you see parts of yourself that may feel inaccessible, we can move towards you living life the way you want to.

I specialize in autism spectrum disorder, ADHD , and neuropsychological evaluations. I also provide cognitive behavioral therapy for autism spectrum disorder, ADHD , and anxiety disorders. I work with both older children (age 8+) and adults. I often help people figure out the root cause of these types of issues: attention problems, memory problems, learning challenges, and social skills deficits. Right now, kids and young adults with attention and learning challenges are particularly struggling with remote learning environments, and different strategies may be needed. I hope to help kids and families get through this difficult time.

Specializing in the ADHD community.
I have worked in the field of social work for over 20+ years providing case management services and therapeutic interventions. I believe that finding balance in life is important for overall health: mind, body & soul. I practice mindfulness daily within my own life. Life is a journey that we experience moment to moment. My role as a therapist is to help guide my clients to learn to be present in the moment and to work towards closing the chapter/s on past moments which cause imbalance in their present lives. Be well and be kind to yourself.

Are you seeking a comprehensive assessment with recommendations tailored to your unique needs? Do you suspect a Specific Learning Disorder (like “dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia”), ADHD /“ ADD ,” Autism, or an Intellectual Disability? If so, you (or your loved one) may qualify for accommodations in school or for important exams. If you are having trouble getting school support, do need an advocate? Or do you need an “IQ Test” for G.A.T.E. entry, or for MENSA qualification? A consultation can be useful to help develop skills, and to find answers. An Educational Psychologist can help with each of these areas, and much more.

Life can be an overwhelming experience for anyone. Things can become especially challenging when a person feels stressed by circumstances beyond their control. Individuals who come to therapy are often very capable human beings who have experienced something in their life that has left them needing some extra support. Many times people begin therapy feeling down and lost. Through a person's work in therapy, they are often able to find some light on their path to help guide them through the pain. This shift creates an opportunity for a person to improve their day-to-day functioning and overall, they FEEL BETTER!!

In our lives we are all trying to maximize our happiness and minimize our pain. Our life situation can feel overwhelming, pain can feel constant, and happiness can feel far out of our reach. Unfortunately, sometimes what we thought would make us happy ends up bringing us more pain instead. I offer support and tools to help you re-orient yourself on your path toward cultivating happiness. I use a holistic approach to helping my clients, which may include a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Buddhist-oriented psychology/mindfulness strategies, emotion regulation, and communication skills training.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for a Sacramento ADHD therapist, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counseling in Sacramento.
