Are you, or your child, struggling with ADHD, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD, Autistic, Attachment or Neurodevelopment disorders?
You have a natural capacity in life for attention, focus, engagement, happiness, ease, relaxation and sleep. For many, neurofeedback is all they need to realize that potential. It can also provide the missing ingredient to realizing the fullness of their therapy, personal development, exercise, or nutrition programs.

I don't have a specific client that is "ideal" as every client has their own unique history and backstory. I definitely look forward to meeting with people who are interested in self-growth but I also enjoy helping people get to the point to where the may be ready to work on their self-growth. If you are reading this, you would probably be the ideal client since you have taken the first step in just having that thought in your head about maybe it is time to give yourself the love you give to others and focusing on yourself.

Are you seeking answers about learning-related needs. A thorough evaluation is needed to accurately figure that out and to diagnose or "rule out" a Specific Learning Disorder (like dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia), ADHD, Autism, or an Intellectual Disability. It will result in recommendations based on a client's unique learning profile. Some may seek testing for other reasons. For example, a college student who has a disability may be entitled to accommodations in school, and for exams. A comprehensive assessment is adapted to meet each person's needs. As a highly skilled Licensed Educational Psychologist, Reed can help.

It can be difficult for us to reach out and seek help. We often feel it can be daunting to know where to begin. You may feel stuck in old patterns of thoughts and behaviors and frustrated that you can't escape, trapped in your mind. You may feel hopeless because conversations with your partner seem to always end up in conflict. You may feel that like most people have "it figured out" and you don't have a place or a purpose. These are frustrating and frightening places to be. If only there was a way to make sense of these (and more) experiences, to truely experience peace and healing.

“We are all going through something.” – Anonymous. Feeling stuck, overwhelmed and unable to move forward and live your best life? Oftentimes, it’s about relationships - with your partner, others, or with yourself. Every so often, it can even be those long-standing issues that you’ve been able to deal with, but this time, you just need a little help. To be human is to be in a relationship. Like many psychologists, I'm deeply trained in treating individuals for affective challenges - and PTSD, trauma, addictions, and life transitions. My focus is on how we relate - to ourselves and each other.

Are you juggling a million things at once, and it feels like no matter how hard you try, it just never seems to be enough? Maybe you’re always in your head, second-guessing yourself, procrastinating, or struggling with anxiety spirals that never seem to break. From the outside, you might seem like you have it all together, but underneath, you feel scattered, exhausted, or just not quite okay. You’re managing ADHD, burnout, anxiety, trauma, or going through a season of change. Despite how capable you are, it’s starting to wear on you. You want to feel more regulated, more present, and more connected to what matters.

You are struggling. Your life isn't what you want it to be. We can help! We specialize in anxiety, depression, couples issues, addictions, sleep problems, concussion, ADD, and trauma. We are friendly and goal-oriented. I have 20 years experience working with adults, teens, and children. And, if you wish, we can also integrate neurofeedback training into our work together. Neurofeedback uses the EEG (which neurologists also use) to teach you to change brainwave patterns that keep you from being your best. I studied Neurofeedback at San Francisco State University, and am Board Certified in Biofeedback.

Making the decision to start counseling is often difficult, and I would be honored to work with you in re-designing a lifestyle where you can experience more positivity, strength, and growth. Each therapeutic relationship is different, and I truly appreciate working with people who are authentic, sincere, open to sharing and receiving insights, and are able to trust the process as one of healing, enlightenment, and empowerment. Life can be challenging, but I believe we all want happier and healthier relationships, and the best place to start is on the relationship we have with ourselves. We will work together so that you can thrive.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Therapists

When should someone seek treatment for a traumatic brain injury?

People should seek a diagnosis and treatment after a head injury, especially if they were unconscious, and an early diagnosis can lead to a better recovery. Signs of a concussion include headaches, nausea or vomiting, exhaustion, dizziness, vision problems, sensitivity to light and sound, problems with attention and memory, brain fog, unusual irritability or sadness, and unusual sleep patterns.

What’s the most common treatment for a traumatic brain injury?

Treatment for a traumatic brain injury will be different depending on the severity of the problem. For mild injuries, treatment may involve rest and over-the-counter pain or headache medication. For moderate or severe injuries, treatment may involve stabilization, medication, and rehabilitative therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cognitive therapy, and counseling.

How long does it take to recover from traumatic brain injury?

The recovery time for a traumatic brain injury depends on the individual and the severity and nature of the injury; the length of time spent unconscious is often an indicator of severity. Recovery time for mild injuries may be a week or two while recovery time for more severe injuries may be six months to two years. Research suggests that the vast majority of recovery occurs in the first two years after an injury; recovery after that time frame is less certain.

What if a traumatic brain injury is left untreated?

If a traumatic brain injury is left untreated, it can lead to long-term physical and mental health problems. Physical problems may include dizziness, headaches, vision, healing, or speech loss, and an elevated risk of dementia. Psychological problems may include impairments of memory, judgment, and decision-making, depression, aggression, poor impulse control, and personality changes.
