As a licensed clinical psychologist, I offer adults, children, couples and families a path to finding freedom and hope in whatever situation they’re in and provide them with life-changing tools to move from where they are right now to where they want to be.
If you’re struggling with anxiety or depression, or have been through something traumatic or distressing, you’re not alone. Even the strongest amongst us have times when external and internal pressures can overwhelm our physiological and psychological ability to cope. Psychotherapy is a proven and effective intervention to help reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, heal from past trauma, and provide tools for maintaining emotional health for the long-term. For others, our relationships can become chaotic or broken and we just need someone to guide us as we navigate all the different personalities that make up a family.

I am open to seeing all types of clients including individual needs, couples needs, family needs, and child therapy.
David Richo stated that, "our wounds are often the opening into the best and most beautiful parts of us". It can be really challenging to open up and start to work on wounds that have harmed us for so long. My sole purpose of therapy is to walk along side you during your time of need as well as your time of comfort. It is important to understand that you do not have to work on these issues alone. You are the expert of your own self and with my help we can work on teasing out some of the pain and the hurt to heal open wounds. If you're struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, adjustment difficulties, or relationship issues I want to help you.
Life can be challenging, and sometimes we can feel inadequate in dealing with life struggles that come our way. Sometimes we feel like we've tried everything, but for some reason we still feel stuck despite our best efforts. Although there are times in our lives when we feel great, there are also times in our lives when we feel hopeless, anxious, depressed, or even lost. Sometimes, we can pinpoint why we feel this way, and other times, these feelings seem to just come upon us for no apparent reason. Both can make life incredibly difficult.

I specialize in working individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, and infidelity.
Infidelity leaves us feeling hopeless, defeated, and angry. You’re someone who has always said infidelity is a “dealbreaker” but now find yourself facing this with your partner , hoping it isn’t actually the dealbreaker you’ve always known it to be. You may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or searching for solutions after an affair that has left you feeling hopeless. But you’re ready to make a change. You’re ready to take one step forward, toward healing. Most of all, you’re ready to be on the other side of this seemingly insurmountable hill. I want to help you get there.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
