Are you ready for new growth? I believe that you have the innate capacity to heal, develop, and grow. Life can be stressful, and we may come across life experiences that unbalance and overwhelm us. Often the very painful issues such as anxiety , depression, difficulty with relationships, life stage transitions, trauma, illness, and lack of purpose/motivation may present as an opportunity for exploration, personal growth, and development. Therapy provides a safe haven for identifying inner conflicts, exploring feelings, and letting go of limiting patterns of negative beliefs and behaviors.

For individuals we build on your strengths and learn new and improved coping skills in order to be able to handle anxiety and depression.
Are you always on edge, like a feeling of dread? Either all the time or maybe only in social situations? It just won’t go away, it’s been weeks or months and you can’t take it any longer. Are the things you used to like no longer interesting and you don’t know why? You’ve got no energy for anything. Getting out of bed to take a shower is exhausting. Maybe you’re questioning your purpose. Why are you here? I work with folks like you dealing with anxiety and depression. Or maybe your relationship is having trouble? Arguments that never get solved. I can show you a way out of that endless circle of disagreements.

Relief from distress. Initially this is what brings most people into therapy. Emotional pain is difficult to express and can feel isolating. Making the first move to get help for your anxiety , depression, self loathing or communication problems requires that you trust the therapist at the other end. I hope that a personal, caring approach can help you put your life in order. Your immediate concerns and goals are my primary interest.

As a psychotherapist, I help resilient individuals overcome past adverse and traumatic experiences to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. Adversity and trauma may have led you to experience symptoms of anxiety , depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, or interpersonal relationship challenges, that negatively impact your daily life. But these symptoms do not define you. Rather they speak to the hardships and challenges you have faced. Allow me to offer you a safe space to process your story and learn new skills to begin your healing journey, release shame, build self-compassion, and live authentically YOU.

I have extensive experience with a full range of presenting concerns: anxiety , depression, relationship difficulties, couples therapy, life adjustments, loss, etc.
For some, therapy is about accumulating tools and strategies for addressing specific life-struggles. For others, therapy is about better understanding oneself: solidifying your understanding of how you arrived at this place in your life and exploring how to find your way to a better, more fulfilling space. I provide individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy services for adults and adolescents. I have the luxury of saying that I love what I do for a living, and I look forward to working with you in addressing your presenting concerns. Feel welcome to contact me for more information about my practice.

Throughout therapy you'll develop meaningful insights into your anxiety and how it came to be.
Perhaps you’re a worst-case scenario thinker, constantly fearing something bad will happen, and often feel exhausted by this and its inherent lack of peace. Perhaps you experience social anxiety - the idea of meeting new people or interacting with others tends to trigger feelings of self-doubt, fears of being judged or not measuring up. Or perhaps within your close relationships, anxiety has translated into an overly critical or controlling demeanor. Though you don’t intend this, feeling powerless in other areas of life or always having had to be the responsible one may have caused you to have a tight grip on your life.

My training in CBT, EMDR, Anxiety and EFT (couples) allows me help clients navigate different challenges while providing the most accurate treatment for their concerns.
Life is full of difficulties that present themselves when we least expect it. No one should struggle alone when trying to navigate these challenges. I have had the honor of working with individuals, couples, and teens, dealing with anxiety , anger, depression, low self-esteem, relational difficulties, infidelity, and trauma. These experiences are some of the obstacles that leave us feeling overwhelmed and defeated. When we are in this state, it is difficult to turn off that negative and critical voice that tends to linger longer than we’d prefer. Fortunately, this is something that no one has to endure alone.

If you're struggling with depression, anxiety , life transitions, adjustment difficulties, or relationship issues I want to help you.
Life can be challenging, and sometimes we can feel inadequate in dealing with life struggles that come our way. Sometimes we feel like we've tried everything, but for some reason we still feel stuck despite our best efforts. Although there are times in our lives when we feel great, there are also times in our lives when we feel hopeless, anxious, depressed, or even lost. Sometimes, we can pinpoint why we feel this way, and other times, these feelings seem to just come upon us for no apparent reason. Both can make life incredibly difficult.

Are you looking for an authentic person to talk to? Are there obstacles that you have that are not understood by others? Or maybe have obstacles that remain in place regardless of what is done to remove them? During the covid and/or coronavirus pandemic, our symptoms can be increased. Is this pandemic adding to your list of obstacles?

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
