The adults I work with typically come in with challenges regarding dissatisfaction in their personal relationships, work stress and contemplating a career change, experiencing new symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, past trauma is interfering with current life, self-esteem issues, and many other life transitions.
The couples I see range from those seeking pre-marital counseling, to those recovering from an affair to those wanting some routine maintenance. With couples I pride myself on my ability to remain neutral while helping each partner see what life is like from the other partner's perspective.

I specialize in helping Millennials and Gen Z navigate through anxiety, relationship issues, boundary concerns, and self-care.
Our sessions should make you feel heard, seen, and supported as you face life's hardships. Fancy curse words are allowed, because I get it, sometimes things suck and it’s okay to say it like it is.

I specialize in clients who may be struggling with relationship and family issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors and transition, and self-esteem.
Starting therapy is difficult and scary; however, you do not have to do it yourself. I understand it is also vulnerable to share your stories with a stranger. Therapy is a space where you can feel safe being yourself. With sincerity, I strive to build that safe environment for you and work collaboratively to find yourself. I want to empower you to understand your thoughts and feelings. Working through your negative behavioral and thought patterns, we will identify how these currently affect your life. I will help you find solutions within yourself that you feel comfortable practicing and sustaining, using your natural strengths.

Hi there, I'm Charity! With all the challenges life presents, coupled with the recent upheaval of our daily existence, prioritizing one's mental health is now more essential than ever. As we continue to adapt as a society to a "new normal", at times we may feel overwhelmed by a world that is constantly in a state of flux. Fear, anxiety, or a sense of powerlessness may sometimes engulf us and our ability to cope with a world that seems to lack consistency and stability.

We are all just doing the best that we can, but it is easy to feel depleted, alone, anxious, or depressed.
Through education and practice of useful skills, I believe anyone can develop new tools to alleviate their emotional distress, problematic behaviors, and improve their overall self-worth. It is a process, and it won't happen overnight, but I am here to walk alongside you.

Throughout my professional journey I have worked with children, teens and adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, identity struggles, and who are overcoming any levels of trauma experienced in the past.
Hello, my name is Estrella Ramirez-Robles. I am an LA native who loves everything Dodgers, Lakers, and Chargers (yes still a Chargers fan even though Rams won the Super Bowl), and who does not shy away from trying new foods, exploring the world, and saying NO to things that will not make me happy. I am a coffee lover, professional dog snuggler, and someone who is an introvert at heart but an extrovert by profession.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
