There is nothing quite like emotional pain. We carry it with us everywhere. It messes up our life. Sometimes it makes us want to hide from other people; sometimes from ourselves. Sometimes we turn to various escapes to quiet that insistent feeling in our bodies. We look to one solution after another until we learn to mistrust every solution. And we are right. There is no one-size-fits-all answer. In fact, there isn't even a one-size-fits-all question. You are unique, and only you have the answer. My role is to help you find it.

Starting therapy takes courage, and it isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s messy, uncomfortable, or just plain hard—and that’s okay. My goal is to be fully present with you through the tough stuff, not just the breakthroughs. I work with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, substance use, depression, anxiety, and major life transitions. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just unsure of what’s next, we’ll work together to make sense of things and build a path forward.

Is your mind interrupting your ability to connect to yourself and with your loved ones? I have extensive experience supporting anxiety disorders, depression, and the ways our mind can get in the way of connection. Whether we are doing individual or couples work, we will explore an integrated and trauma-informed approach to create meaningful shifts in your life and discover effective coping strategies that build connection instead of avoidance. In my practice, some of the clients I support are parents, people going through life transitions and incorporating new roles or identities, and high achievers wanting to prevent burnout.

Life has its ups and downs, and I believe that we can all benefit from a non-judgmental space for slowing down, reflection, another perspective and a partner for brainstorming solutions. Perhaps you are going through a transition, experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, or loss? Perhaps you are looking to improve or strengthen your relationship with your child or another family member? Perhaps you have concerns about your child's mood or behavior?

Welcome! In 2023 I completed my PhD in Psychology, Public Policy, and Law, meaning I have a more in-depth understanding of the intersection between the mental health and criminal justice systems - this does not make me a clinical psychologist. My primary therapeutic modality is Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which has been empirically proven to help individuals struggling with self-harm, suicidal ideation, intense mood fluctuations, unstable relationships, poor emotion regulation capabilities, and frequent impulsive & risk-taking behaviors.

I remember Aunt Rose always saying “Aging isn't for sissies”. Now that I’ve reached “old age”, I’m very aware of how right she was. Our bodies stop cooperating. Our appearance changes. And grief and loss hover dangerously near us . Old age is an opportunity – and maybe our last opportunity - to find contentment, peace and ease, in spite of intense emotional and physical states that old age brings. It’s a chance to really get to know ourselves more intimately and to accept what is. I work with older adults who are interested in exploring the complexities of aging while making meaning out of life and practicing acceptance.

Becoming a parent can feel like your whole world shifts overnight. You might be caring for a newborn, navigating sleep deprivation, or wrestling with anxiety or intrusive thoughts. You may also be carrying tender grief from pregnancy loss, stillbirth, infant loss, or a birth that feels overwhelming, traumatic even. Many parents describe feeing unsteady and unsure of when they'll feel like themselves again. I also support fathers who are struggling in their own way, or wanting guidance in caring for the person they love.

Therapy with me is thoughtful collaborate and grounded. I help people slow down and make sense of their emotional world and develop new ways of responding to feel more aligned and intentional. I often work with people who feel reactive, impatient or angry and don't fully understand why. People who struggle with relationship conflict, emotional disconnection or trust after a betrayal. People who feel responsible for others but disconnected from themselves. And people who are high functioning but emotionally exhausted.

I believe the mind knows how to heal. Given the right conditions, our own wisdom guides us back to what makes us feel alive and whole. Therapy can be one of the conditions we need for healing. By becoming familiar with what blocks us and aligning with what we value and love, we begin to untangle the past and create the life we want.

I work with adults of all ages & phases of life. I specialize in supporting them to work with & through life challenges, relationships, transitions, addictions, depression, anxiety, & trauma. Often the most painful “symptoms” are actually aspects of us, protective strengths that are outdated or out of balance with our life and our truth. It may be something deep within us trying to loudly get our attention that something is off & needs to change. Whatever drives you to show up for yourself & your life in this way…welcome! Whether we incorporate IFS, EMDR, Ketamine Assisted Therapy, or other, there’s hope & help!

For many of us, especially when we've tried before, it can feel impossible to even hope that change or healing may be possible. We feel blocked by moods, situations, patterns that we can't seem to change. On the other hand, many of us long to live a life in which we are wholly our self, to live from spaciousness and authenticity. If you're here, there's a part of you still holding hope. My approach in therapy is to address the parts of you that are hurting, to help them heal using trauma-informed modalities, then to help you to expand into whatever felt sense you are missing- calm, confidence, connectedness, clarity, ease.

We all experience difficult and stressful passages in our lives, but too often we do it alone and the passages are unbearably long. If you are struggling with worry, self-doubt or a general sense of discouragement or emptiness, there is hope. My 36 years as a licensed therapist have taught me that deep within our brains and bodies lie innate, wired-in instincts toward healing and self-righting. Our work together will help you access these instincts so that you can experience your aliveness and freedom to be yourself.
