Traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, grief & loss, or compulsive sexuality, have hurt my life or others. I feel scared, alone, and powerless. I am confused and don't know where to begin. I feel stuck, frozen, and angry, and the guilt too much to bare... Within a safe non-judgmental space we discover hope, healing, and recovery, finding a sense of direction and personal meaning through the therapeutic relationship. Change begins first with awareness and then with a heavy dose of courage and commitment.

Other common areas related to my focus revolve around men's issues in life, relationships, and work.
If you’re silently struggling with porn addiction, you already know the emotional toll: shame, secrecy, and the frustration of breaking promises to yourself. Whether it’s Pornhub, OnlyFans, cam sites, or endless scrolling, your partner may feel hurt and disconnected. You’re likely overwhelmed by guilt and stuck in patterns you swore you’d quit. Even if you’re not in a relationship, porn may still be affecting your confidence, focus, or ability to connect. It doesn’t have to stay this way. I help men who feel stuck in this cycle break free from compulsive porn use and rebuild intimacy without shame or judgment.

I enjoy working with teens and adults who is looking for relief from trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief. Many of these stressors can lead to a crisis, substance abuse, and thoughts of suicide. Wanting to find relief from these struggles can be daunting, yet it is possible. I believe that each individual needs to be considered as a whole and the therapy process should be tailored to their individual needs and personal circumstances.

I specialize in men's issues, anxiety and depression, and working with teenagers.
I felt called to become a marriage/family therapist when the decision to change careers didn't make sense. I ran a successful computer company, fresh off of a decade as an executive for a software company. I had a love for the study of people, and relationships, having received my bachelor's from the University of Utah in MassComm with a minor in Psychology. I was in a wonderful relationship, having a safe environment to share hopes, dreams, fears struggles... I realized that not everyone had this support in place to process highs, lows, and to learn to grow.

Therapy offers the opportunity to share with someone, maybe for the first time who you really are. A safe therapist will help minimize feelings of shame and guide you toward deep appreciation for the younger parts of yourself that protected you from overwhelming pain. Unprocessed pain makes it difficult to trust that the people you care about most are attached to you. In couples therapy both sides likely feel unseen, alone, and fearful that they are not worth being loved the way they desire.

Have you “tried everything” including talk therapy and it’s “helped a little.” Do you feel like you’re stuck in a pattern you can’t seem to change on your own? Is a transformation too much to ask for? It’s not! I’ve seen it happen many times! You need someone to help you map out a plan to a better life and not just give you breathing techniques! Are you willing to try brainspotting therapy? It evolved from EMDR and it’s often a game changer. I’m a certified Brainspotting trauma therapist that often combines cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems and solution focused therapy with brainspotting principles.

Men's Issues Therapists

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?

Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?

Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?

One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
