We are both physical and spiritual beings. It is when we forget to nurture each part that we lose our center and become out of balance. I have dedicated my life to understanding how our emotions impact our behavior and habits. I am a passionate student of the Mind-Body-Soul connection and approach therapy from a holistic point of view. I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Self-esteem/Self-image, Unblocking Creative Expression and Addictive Behavior.

I have a passion in caring for others and enjoy helping people in their walk of life. I believe each person has a story and I strive to help turn their struggles into healing. I view my role as a counselor to guide others into unlocking their full potential and utilizing the tools and strengths they have been gifted with. It is often difficult for one to know when to seek help, my desire is to educate others on the process on counseling and how to work through issues to eventually be self-sufficient.

Often times people attempt to build their
self esteem
on top of shaky foundations with deep painful cracks. The residue of these old hurts can really make us feel like we aren't enough, we don't matter or we aren't in control of our own journey. Finding our way through these foundational issues is so challenging, and having a guide to challenge all the junk (that we may not even see) that goes through our minds on a daily basis is one of the ways I help my clients realign with who they actual are. As we build up their strength to be themselves, I lead them through the steps of how to make their lives the best lives for who they are.

Most of your life has been spent stuck in one-sided conversations with your inner critic or critical loved ones. You have become far too comfortable with your negative thoughts defining you. You ask yourself why you continue to seek out external validation as you feel embarrassed you don't know how to reassure yourself. You are met with disappointment as you continue down a path of poor self-esteem, shame, and not liking yourself very much. If this has become habitual, you owe it to yourself to make therapy a standard in your self-care routine.

Life is far from perfect; it can be hard, painful, and disappointing, to say the least. It doesn't have to stay that way though. If you are tired of your thoughts bringing you down, want to break out of negative relationship patterns, and/or want to step into your future without carrying the pain of your past, then you’re in the right place. While I offer safety and support in therapy like most therapists, I will also challenge you, with empathy and kindness, to look deeply at yourself and your situation to see where change can be made. Don't keep suffering when help is available now. After all, nothing changes if nothing changes.

I specialize in working with people who are trying to untangle the threads of relationships-whether it's relationships with family, friends, children, significant others, or even your relationship with yourself. I work with individual adults, adolescents, or couples. Many clients find that their struggles fall in these categories: depression, anxiety, relationship problems, transitions, identity issues, self-exploration, grief and loss, self-esteem, and spirituality. However you name your experience, my goal is to provide a safe place where we can explore your story, untangle the knots, and re-weave those threads.

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.
What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.
What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.
How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
