I offer in-person sessions Tuesdays in Riverside and telehealth across California.
It can be frustrating when you know something is not working, but you can't seem to figure out why. Maybe you keep finding yourself in the same relationships, responding in ways that don't feel like you, or feeling disconnected from the person you want to be. You do not have to make sense of it alone. I work with adolescents, young adults, and individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, relationship stress, life transitions, or substance use concerns. My approach is warm, curious, collaborative, and direct.

Finding our strengths is an intangible but important part of living. We may find strength from relationships, growing opportunities, self awareness and devoting our energy to values we consider more important than ourselves. In entering therapy, the client's relationship with the therapist can be a step in finding that strength. I specialize in adults, either in individual therapy or with the partner. I also have experience in family therapy involving teenagers and young adults. I have experience in anger management, grief, work related stress and problems of isolation.

Most of us do not escape life without some degree of suffering. Whatever the cause of our suffering, seeking help at a time we feel most vulnerable can be scary and uncomfortable. It takes courage to open oneself to feelings of vulnerability and fear in order to grow. I have immense respect for anyone who seeks professional help in the face of this discomfort. A state of curiosity and self-compassion about one's suffering can lead to increased self-awareness and receptivity to learning and growing through any challenge. A quest for a life worth living opens us to asking beautiful questions that turn challenges into opportunities

I only offer in person services through Cyti Psych.
I work well with clients who feel given up on, trapped in cycles, and unsure how to break out. You might feel traditional therapy hasn't worked, or you're ready to disentangle your identity from problem behaviors and have those behaviors challenged directly. People who feel like they haven't benefitted from more conventional therapist interactions, have felt unchallenged, received support in session but didn't feel like they were receiving concrete skills that they can use to address the problem. People who want a therapist that's more authentic and rough around the edges rather than someone who performs the role of therapist.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
