anxiety
, depression, and personality disorders.
Life often comes with experiences that are difficult to handle. In my experience in working with individuals, couples, children, and families, I have come to understand that stressful and negative life experiences can present at different times. This may make it more difficult for us to cope, connect, and function in our daily life and with others. I understand that reaching out for support can be difficult, but necessary at times. In my work, I do my best to provide a safe, supportive, and understanding environment that enables individuals the space to explore the situations and experiences that have occurred.

Life stressors may be in abundance for some. These stressors may come from a person's career, interpersonal relationships, cultural influences, medical history, and other environmental factors. Stressful life events may occur during critical life transitions or unexpectedly. When stress becomes unmanageable you may experience
anxiety
, depressed mood, hopelessness, fatigue, low self-esteem, and irritability. Self-awareness and healthy coping strategies are not skills everyone had the opportunity to cultivate in order to successfully navigate life's most difficult challenges.

We specialize in treating those who suffer from depression, anger,
anxiety
and more.
We are committed to providing comprehensive treatment to clients in a manner that considers, not only the troubling behavior or concern, but rather, explores the pathway that clients traveled long before they arrived at their present destination. You may have experienced negative behaviors or responses and felt as though you lacked control over what occurred. You may have approached each day with good intentions only to find yourself repeating a pattern of behavior, without understanding why you can't seem to get it right. Each day, you wake up seeking a new reality and positive outcomes, but the cycle continues. Call us today!

Everyone has a story. It takes courage to reach out and tell the details of that story in counseling. It is my privilege to be the listener in the room, and my hope that you will feel safe and comfortable enough to share the concerns that are holding you back. Depression,
anxiety
, grief or loss may seem insurmountable, but together, we can set goals and implement new strategies to move you forward, adding a new and positive chapter in your story.

My primary treatment modality with most patients is to work with their thinking and their actions, a cognitive-behavioral approach.
Anxiety
disorders, chronic worry and low self-esteem issues are my specialties. I also work with couples in an educational format to learn effective means of communicating and problem solving. I can also help those individuals dealing with work related problems that are causing them to have distressing symptoms. Looking at life meaning/purpose and goals and values under girds each patient’s treatment as well.

I support teens and adults who are struggling with
anxiety
, depression, and ADHD.
Hello there, I’m Rebecca. I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist from Riverside, California supervised by PatrickLyra Wilder LMFT 98562. The main factor that predicts successful therapy treatment is not the theories or interventions (or fancy couch), but the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client. You deserve to feel that your therapist truly cares and supports you. As an Indigenous therapist, I provide a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach to your treatment. I believe that therapy is not a one size fits all, and that we bring our own individual needs when it comes to our mental health.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
