Your journey to healing depends on two things: a relationship built on trust and guidance to help you find your purpose. Focusing on both mind and body, Sky's the Limit facilitates whole change by helping you unlock those things from the past that block healing. When you learn to change your mind about who you are and begin to see the truth, healing begins.

I am CODA- child of deaf adult. I am fluent in American Sign Language, and it is one of the reasons I became a therapist to be able to provide direct services to those who identify as deaf/ hard of hearing. I am client-centered, which to me means I do believe the person I am working with in therapy is the expert on their life and just needs some unbiased, non-judgmental feedback and support in their life. I come from an empowerment model, and feminist theory and work as a sounding board with assertive feedback and helpful tools for the people I am working with in the therapeutic space.

What inspires me to work in the field of mental health is the deep desire to help people navigate through some of the toughest moments of their lives. There’s something profoundly rewarding about being able to offer support and guidance when someone feels stuck, isolated, or overwhelmed and help them find their inner strength to move forward. Knowing I can play even a small part in someone’s journey to emotional well-being and personal growth is what keeps me dedicated to this field.

Life is full of complexities, "messiness," as well as beauty, in relationships with others and especially with ourselves. As a culturally conscious therapist, I strive to create safe spaces for people to learn and figure out who they are, what they want and explore who they could be. All of this is addressed, without judgment, regardless of faith, gender, weight, culture, or race. I am deeply committed to helping individuals, couples, families, systems and institutions. Together, we move toward an understanding of what drives us to do the things we do, who we are, and ways to live to our fullest potential, with self, and others

You want to appear successful and confident, but deep down you are struggling with experiences that have you questioning your purpose and self worth. Toxic cycles can keep us feeling stuck and lead to feelings of overwhelm and despair. You may feel like you can't stop over thinking, or are having trouble finding purpose and meaning in your life. Life can bring us challenges, transitions, loss, and even traumatic events that can make it hard to move forward and live your best life. These experiences can lead to anxiety, depression, and even PTSD. Life doesn't have to be this way, and you don't have to navigate life on your own.

If you are coming to see me, perhaps you need a nudge to make a change in your life. You will always be greeted with kindness without judgment. You probably know what you want to do, but you know you are not doing it and you can't figure out why. You may be a parent who is exhausted and forgotten who you wanted to be.. Or perhaps you stalled in college. Looking at your habits, positive and negative, we may consider how they are impacting the decisions you make and what you want to do with your life. Or perhaps I can help by pointing you to resources in our community that you never knew existed.

Hey there, I’m a licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I received my masters from University of New England with a focus in Individuals, families and groups. I’ve been practicing for 11 years. I specifically enjoy helping people find perspective through the voice of their pain. I think pain and discomfort can be our best teacher if we allow ourselves to look at it, this way.

Lately does it feel like chaos in a society that has already been deep in anxiety? There is solid research that as a society we didn't magically reset after the shockwaves of COVID. This is the perfect setup for anxiety and tension in a society which already valued hypervigilance. It's no wonder we are a society that relies on food, alcohol, or drugs to feel better. My approach is one of looking at how the mind and body respond to stress and to start using coping mechanisms to stabilize rather than the proverbial snowball effect. I am 15 years into my own journey of sobriety and speak the language of recovery and self-care.

Our pain is a portal that can lead us to the freedom we desire if we have the courage to look at what hurts. Our pain can show up in the form of depression, anxiety, health issues, addictions, grief, shame, and blame. I believe healing is less about how our pain manifests and more about the messages our pain is trying to convey to us. With a gentle curiosity, we can start to explore these messages and uncover the root of the unhealed parts of ourselves that desperately seek our attention and compassion.

I have always had a heart for others and a desire to journey with them as they reach their fullest potentials. I have worked in a variety of agency and private practice settings with all sorts of persons and needs, but it has always been my deepest hope to provide therapy from the perspective of Christ’s love. In any therapeutic scenario, I begin by creating a safe and structured environment where you can sort through your life stressors alongside a nurturing, supportive and non-judgmental ally. This atmosphere becomes the space where you can finally feel safe enough to approach and change the parts of you that need healing.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Downtown, Riverside?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
