I also provide Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, including intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors.
You’re the one people think has it together. Meanwhile, your mind keeps running through worries and what-ifs. You replay conversations, second-guess what you said, and try to predict every outcome. Even when you’re with people you care about, part of you is elsewhere, caught in loops of overanalyzing, self-doubt, or anxious tension. You’re thoughtful and self-aware, used to figuring things out on your own, but your mind feels stuck—and you’re tired of carrying it all. You want relief from the mental noise, better sleep, and to feel more present in your life, not just wrapped up in your head trying to manage it.

Thank you for choosing to embark on your healing journey. It takes strength and self-awareness to seek support, and that courage marks the beginning of a meaningful transformation. I’m honored to walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity, growth, and healing. In our work together, I take a compassionate and holistic approach to therapy. I believe that understanding our family of origin and the impact of generational trauma is key to making meaningful changes in the present. These early experiences often shape how we show up in the world, sometimes in ways we don’t even realize.

I believe therapy is the opportunity to be selfishly authentic in explaining how you're feeling and get feedback based on those thoughts that can be hard to share with the people in your life. I'm not sure what brought you to look for a therapist, maybe a big change, losing someone, or just feeling ready to see if a therapeutic relationship can help you move through some things, but I'm glad you're here.

My ideal clients are people who are tired of just “knowing better” but still feeling stuck. They’re often high-functioning, self-aware, and deeply thoughtful—but underneath that, they’re dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, shame, or emotional overwhelm. A big part of my work centers people of color who haven’t always had spaces where their emotions could be fully expressed or understood. That said, my space is for anybody who’s ready to slow down, feel, and actually shift how they experience life—not just talk about it. Most of my clients come in because something isn’t working anymore. They might be: • Repeating patterns in

A satisfactory relationship to one's self is the most significant element in finding a way through life's challenges. Sometimes this pathway feels chaotic, confused, conflicted, or just not strong enough. Sometimes life experiences overwhelm our capacities to contain and reflect on their meaning for us in a way that keeps us from our potential as persons, as partners, or as an employee/job holder. Therapy offers an opportunity to listen to yourself in an uniquely individual, finely-tuned, non-judgmental way. Fears, sadnesses, and blocked places may all find they have something important to reveal to us when explored in a therapeutic relationship.

With twenty plus years of experience, I have had the pleasure of working with many clients from various cultural contexts. As a Latina, I am very familiar with the psycho social contexts and cultural considerations needed for culturally competent therapy. Since my practice is very close to U.C. Berkeley, I have also enjoyed working with many graduate and undergraduate students as well as adolescents in both school and private practice settings.

You might be navigating OCD, parenting an anxious child, exploring non-monogamy, or changes in your relationships.
My path to becoming a therapist wasn’t linear. I spent nearly a decade in other fields, including herbal medicine, landscape architecture, and environmental justice. I came to this work after years exploring how people heal — through land, plants, community, and justice — and those experiences continue to shape the lens I bring into the therapy room.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
