Due to current events around COVID 19 I am offering Telehealth sessions. My passion to work with people started when I was placed into foster care at 15. It was during this time I realized how life experiences can change and drive our moods and behaviors. Trauma impacts and influences everyone and can alter the way we perceive and interact with people and the world. I will empower my client's to address their past traumatic events and begin to heal themselves through therapy. I believe that everyone has resilience within them and with the right support, client's are able to take back control of their lives.

Paulina Waas has been practicing Psychotherapy for 18-plus years. She applies Theory and techniques as she identifies the needs of each client individually. She has experience in treating Adults, Children, and families. She takes a Psychodynamic approach to mood disorders, PTSD, anxiety, and Panic attack. A thorough Assessment using DSM-5, crisis interventions, Behavioral and Cognitive Models, and Systemic Perspectives are applied to each case individually as needed. Life coaching is also an approach to guide clients to achieve their goals.

I enjoys working with children, teens, and adults. My passion is working with the teenage population, and challenging young minds to overcome difficulties that they face. I have the belief that not one type of approach or intervention works for everyone, which is why I like to incorporate my clients interests and needs in therapy. I enjoy challenging the mind of my clients, and aiding them in understanding emotions, behaviors and thought processing.

My greatest passion is performing my duties as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I feel honored working with clients who seek mental health treatment. I serve adults, adolescents, and children, with proficiency in various treatment modalities including, but not limited to, individual, group, family and child therapy. I utilize active listening, validation, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. My work is focussed, goal directed, purpose and problem centered, offering support, warmth, caring, and deep regard for clients' rights and potentials for change. I accept Medicare and MediCal/IEHP insurance. Additionally, I accept private insurance - Blue Cross, CHIPA, Value Options, MHN, Aetna, TriCAre, etc.
