Our work together will help you develop a thoughtful acceptance of your life, re-connect you with your inner strengths/values and empower you to cultivate new tools to live a healthy life.
Nothing in the world can bother us as much as our minds sometimes; life’s challenges become overwhelming and upset the people around us and us. When these challenges become overwhelming, you don’t have to manage them alone. As a therapist, I recognize it could be challenging to talk or seek help. So, as a therapist, I provide my clients a non-judgmental, safe and caring environment to express, process, and explore their feelings. I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I specialized in treating addiction, anxiety disorder, trauma/PTSD, OCD, relationship issues, low self-esteem, shame/guilt, and depression.

If the pain of disappointment has decreased your hope or you find yourself with more questions than answers or maybe you are struggling to gain the strength and motivation you need to just live each day. Let"s build that igloo.

I achieve this by tailoring sessions to meet the unique needs of my clients using evidenced based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and other modalities.
I most enjoy working with those who identify as introverts, people-pleasers, and over-thinkers, because these are also the people whose needs are often overlooked. Whether you are someone who is easily overwhelmed, feels misunderstood, or worries that you're "too sensitive" or "too emotional," my goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can focus on healing, growing, and just being you.

Life can be messy, some seasons deplete us of all that we have, and it can feel impossible to navigate it all, at times. Overcoming the seasons and trials in life can be emotionally draining and oftentimes very discouraging. But you do not have to do it alone, and you do not have to have all of the answers. One of the biggest joys for me in being a counselor is, to come along side individuals and couples, like you, fighting to stay afloat and walk with them through their journey to healing and restoration.

“I can’t believe this is happening to us! Has our marriage been a lie! It looks like the marriage is over and with all I’ve been through I can’t believe I still don’t want it to end! Can my marriage be saved?” Marriage is definitely a team effort and when you are not playing on the same team it can look hopeless. Yet, appearances are often misleading! There is HOPE for you! I understand devastation of a heart that is sick from pain and can help you heal your heart. I offer hope to many that are on the journey to reconciliation or new beginnings.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

Is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy evidence-based?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is one of many approaches within the field of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is an evidence-based treatment framework that has been shown to be effective in treating many mental health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and OCD.

What is the difference between Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

Despite being part of the CBT family of therapies, ACT differs from other approaches within this field in several important ways: First, it emphasizes acceptance over change; second, it focuses on present moment experiences rather than past experiences or future events; third it focuses on what clients can do rather than what they cannot do; and fourth it emphasizes values rather than symptoms as targets for change.

What credentials will a certified Acceptance and Commitment therapist have?

A certified Acceptance and Commitment therapist in Rancho Cucamonga will have completed specialized training in this approach at a university accredited by The Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).

How long does ACT typically take?

ACT is a relatively short-term therapy that focuses on helping you accept the things you can't change and commit to the things you can. It typically takes about eight weeks of weekly sessions with a therapist to complete the entire process. You may need to see your therapist weekly or biweekly, depending on the circumstances surrounding your situation.
