I draw on CBT, EMDR, Brainspotting, and schema therapy, matched to you.
You are keeping the outside of your life together and feeling stretched thin underneath it. Maybe you are the one everyone leans on, the person who keeps everyone else okay while quietly losing track of what you need. Maybe the people-pleasing and self-doubt have run for so long that you are not sure who you are without them. This is therapy for finding your way back to yourself. Whether you have kids or you have lost yourself in everything you carry, you are who I work with. I see adults in Rancho Cordova and across California by telehealth.

I regularly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)- one of the most researched and effective treatments available-alongside EMDR for trauma processing, mindfulness practices, and inner-child work.
Are you exhausted from giving so much of yourself-to your relationships, your work, your family-and feeling like it’s never quite enough? Maybe you grew up in a home where love felt conditional or unpredictable, and you learned early to manage everyone else’s emotions while putting your own on hold. Now those patterns are showing up in ways that are hard to ignore: anxiety that won’t quiet down, relationships that leave you feeling depleted, a persistent sense that you’ve lost touch with who you really are. You don’t have to keep running on empty. Therapy can help you understand where these patterns came from and how to change them.

Living life means dealing with challenging times. The good thing is that you don't have to face these challenging times alone. Everyone can use a supportive ear from time to time. Together we can cultivate a better tomorrow utilizing skills and techniques learned through therapy. Managing emotions is a skill just like learning to read or knowing how to do math. You just have to start by taking the first step. Sometimes the smallest steps in the right direction end up being the biggest steps of your life.

I use various approaches (including but not limited to CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR and Attachment Theory) depending on what resonates most with you as a client.
My ideal client is someone who feels stuck—whether in patterns of anxiety, grief, trauma, or relational struggles—but deep down, they want change. They may not have all the answers yet, but they are seeking emotional relief and a greater sense of purpose. They want to heal, grow, and rediscover their strength—because deep down, they know they are capable of more. They are tired of feeling like life is just happening to them. They want to take an active role in their healing journey, learning to navigate challenges with confidence and self-kindess

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
