At Aligned Within, I work with college students and adults navigating life transitions and identity development. Starting college, changing careers, moving, becoming a parent, experiencing divorce or loss, or exploring your sexual or gender identity can bring unexpected questions about who you are and where you’re headed. At other times, life may feel stuck, anxious, or disconnected from a sense of self, with patterns that are difficult to change. Together, we slow down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and reconnect with who you are and where you want to go.

I like to take a holistic, client-centered approach to therapy. It's important to me that clients feel seen so I take a collaborative approach since people experience life through their own unique lens.
I enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community, college students, individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, traumatic events, ADHD and those experiencing life transitions. I work with any age but I prefer working with those 16 and older as I find younger children struggle with telehealth.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you’re just getting through the day instead of truly living it, you don’t have to carry that alone. Maybe anxiety, self-doubt, identity questions, trauma, or substance use have started to feel heavier than you expected. When those struggles begin affecting your relationships and sense of self, it can feel isolating — but you deserve support that feels safe and genuine. I create a space that is warm, affirming, and real. A place where you can show up fully — messy thoughts, complicated feelings, humor, tears, and everything in between — without fear of judgment.

Hello, my name is LaShonda. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from a very small town in Georgia. However,I have lived in California since 2004. Prior to moving here I have lived in Washington state for 4 years. I joined the military at the dapper age of 18 and served my country for 13 years. I received a bachelor's in Legal Studies prior to leaving the military in 2012. After careful deliberation I decided that I no longer wanted to pursue a career in law and that I was more fascinated with human behavior.
