You’ve worked hard to hold it all together. From the outside, people see someone capable, reliable, and strong. But inside, it’s a different story anxiety that won’t quiet down, guilt that lingers, relationships that leave you feeling unseen, and exhaustion from carrying so much for so long. You’ve done your best to push through, but lately the cracks are showing, and the strategies that once helped aren’t working anymore. It feels heavy to keep managing it all on your own, and you’re longing for real, lasting change.

Are you a chronic giver or caretaker who feels internally overwhelmed, depleted, and stuck? People-pleasing, perfectionism, overachieving, and the inability to say "no" can lead to burnout, disconnecting you from your true self. I support overfunctioning adults carrying the impact of early emotional neglect and relational trauma. If you feel responsible for others but are unsure of who you are beneath the surface, our therapy can help you reclaim yourself. Together, we will untangle old patterns, reconnect you with your body & inner wisdom, creating a sense of security for greater freedom, truth, & empowerment in your choices.

Maybe you’ve been asking yourself, “Am I broken?” “What’s wrong with me?” You’re stuck between unbearable emotions and trying to maintain control…But it’s not working. You're likely having overpowering emotions of intense anxiety, depression, or rage. Holding on to trauma is crippling. When left unattended it can start tearing away at your physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual life. Are you or your spouse experiencing these feelings based on current or past trauma from childhood, adolescence, or adulthood? I invite you to a safe space where you can feel at ease to begin looking at where these difficulties began.

Most of my clients come to me when they’ve tried other forms of therapy and are still struggling with anxiety, panic and overwhelm. Talk therapy can help, but it often doesn’t solve the issue. That’s because nervous system dysregulation is not in your mind, it’s in your body! In other words, we can’t fix unconscious states by thinking or talking about them. We need more.

They say grief comes in waves, but you’re not riding waves—you’re being pulled under. You wake up gasping, memories slamming into you like concrete. You’re exhausted from pretending you’re okay, from people telling you to ‘move on’ while you’re barely holding it together. Whether you’re mourning a person, a relationship, or the life you thought you’d have—this pain is real. You keep moving forward, but nothing seems to be working. You don’t have to face it alone. Together, we can find air, even in the darkest waters.

Do you feel like you are walking on eggshells all the time and find yourself overthinking everything? You spend so much time trying to please others that you do not even know what you want anymore…and forget decision making! Every task takes so long you dread starting anything. Your to do list is getting longer and you feel angry and irritated with everyone. You feel people take advantage of you. You do not trust your own feelings, so you have given up even trying to ask for what you want. Even in the few times you express anger to someone, you find them talking you out of it. You wonder why you brought up the issue at all.

Women's Issues Therapists

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?

Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?

As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?

Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
