Taking the first step to start therapy is a powerful choice, and I want you to feel supported from day one. In our work together, we won’t spend hours analyzing the past. Instead, we will focus on the present giving you the practical tools, shifts in mindset, and healthy habits you need to navigate life right now. My goal is to provide a safe space where you feel heard. Whether you are trying to manage anxiety, irritability, burnout, racing thoughts, depression, panic attacks, trauma, ADHD, insomnia, medical conditions, eating disorders, relationship conflict, self-harm, or substance use, you don't have to figure it out alone.

I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can show up just as you are. I focus on supporting children, teens, and young adults as you navigate the ups and downs of growing up: from school stress, friendships, and family changes to the bigger transitions and pressures that come with becoming a young adult. Together, we’ll explore what’s been on your mind, reflect on what feels most important to you, and find practical ways to cope and grow. My goal is to walk alongside you with empathy and collaboration, creating a space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered.

Family and friends are worried and make comments about your use of alcohol or drugs. You get defensive, angry, and don't think there's an issue. You wish they would just listen and leave you alone. After all, you're not hurting anyone. To avoid confrontation you hide your use, lie, and isolate. Over time, your use has increased and you feel anxiety and depression more often.

My ideal client is someone navigating the challenges of daily life, both personally and professionally, while striving to manage their mental health. They are seeking to establish clear boundaries and achieve the goals they've set for themselves. This client is not in pursuit of a perfect life, but rather one where they feel stable and at peace, free from the sense of being overwhelmed. Their ultimate aim is to create a balanced life where they can thrive without feeling like they are constantly drowning in their responsibilities.

Hello! My name is Kishla Preston and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. I have been practicing for the past 10 years and have loved every moment of it. I have had the heart to help others since the age of 10. So much so, that, in high school, I ended up taking custody of the 2-month-old child of a family friend until he was age 2, while his mother gained stability. That being said, I have a special place in my heart for children, young adults, and mothers. My personal goal for every client I meet is to make their lives a little bit better than it was before we found one another.

You're lost in the weeds of to-do's, obligations, & responsibilities; your mind a cacophony of distractions clamoring for your attention. At some point, this life you built got so busy that you're no longer enjoying it. Instead, you're overwhelmed by the anxiety of it all; sure that something will go horribly wrong. You tell yourself that these worries aren't real, just scary stories you contemplate- your own "monster under the bed". So you push them to the back of your mind and slap a smile on your face, forging on. Unfortunately, until we open the door to face the boogeyman, that gnawing feeling of dread won't ever really go away.

Algorithms aren't going to heal your relationship, especially if chronic illness is a factor! AI is everywhere, but it's not a person sitting across from you, tracking your dynamics and helping you actually change. We teach conflict as a skill, and you can get better at it. Not only that, but if you practice healthy conflict, you'll increase your intimacy and have a closer relationship. I know it sounds counterintuitive but I've seen it happen over and over. You don't have to be stuck in this pattern; I promise.
