As an ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) therapist, I combine ancient wisdom traditions with 3rd wave therapeutic methods to help you re-train your mind, rewire you brain and do what works. My primary focus is empowering you take a deep dive into your unique “operating systems” so you can learn to ‘run your mind and emotions’, instead of being run by the unworkable patterns and conditioned reflexes that have kept you stuck… sometimes for years or even decades.

Although most people are depressed or angry at times, they generally find a way to deal with the situation. There are times, however, when a person loses hope or is overwhelmed. They or others decide they might use some help. Sometimes a woman or a man decides that they would like to adjust their life style and emphasize their sense of self. If you work in Silicon Valley, I can use my experience in industry to help you unblock your potential and design effective strategies for greater satisfaction. If you seek spiritual depth, my years as a guide may help unfold meaning.

Everyone deserves support in a crisis. For some, it may have been an event that occurred years ago, and for others it is more recent. Seeking professional help and support is often times the first step to coping with a difficult life period or transition. I believe that healing and empowerment are wholly achievable and begin with a trusting and accepting therapist-client relationship in a safe therapeutic environment.

Do you lie awake at night replaying your interactions and behaviors from the day and think, “what the hell is wrong with me?” Is there a critical inner voice telling you that you’re incompetent or useless? If this sounds like your experience, you’re not alone. Many of us struggle to see our worth in the different facets of our lives. We may feel like we’re not worthy of the people and opportunities in our life or we might analyze our every action, looking for the littlest indication that we truly are stupid, boring, lazy, or any other rude adjective that inner critic throws out there.

I offer therapy for individuals, children, adolescents, and families. I work with my clients from an attachment based framework. Underlying my approach in working with clients is the understanding that what really gives us resilience and emotional health is the experience of being securely connected with other people and particularly those who are closest to us.

Is your child experiencing challenging behaviors? Have you or a family member had a recent stressful event or transition? Having trouble with intense emotional responses or reactions? Has there been a trauma that is causing anxiety or upset in your family? Families can become overwhelmed by stage-of-life transitions, can be at a loss as to how to help their intensely emotional children, or address the special and behavioral needs of individual family members or children. I will help you assess and plan for these special needs and develop a family behavior plan that targets specific areas for positive change.

It's all about relationships, starting with your relationship to yourself, your family of origin, your partner, children, friends. And then there's the relationship to your problems: things like depression, anxiety, ADHD, post-partum and
parenting
stress, body-image problems. How do you work with the set of challenges that life hands you? I work with clients to understand themselves and their own story, and then apply that understanding, in the form of coping and problem-solving skills, to their relationships, to get through life's pain and into a life worth living.

Parenting
can be the hardest job in the world and I am here to help. Do you have a difficult teenager? Is your child having trouble in High School? Has your family experienced divorce, remarriage, or difficulties with co-
parenting
? These types of issues have become very common and it is normal to need some help coping with them. I have many years experience working with children and their families and as a
parent
I can relate to the difficulties that arise each day. The decision to start therapy can be difficult because you may feel that you have already tried everything or you wonder if this will really help.

Guidance in these turbulent times.
Wellbeing is enhanced through connection, freedom and purpose. Therapy done right builds on personal connection, finds unrecognized freedoms, and orients it all with purpose, values and place. My therapeutic stance integrates these threads with unusual openness, warmth, balanced intellect and wit. My practice cultivates resilience not dependence, vitality not the victim trap ideology that has taken over the field. I can help you acknowledge and overcome painful situations, reckon realistically with limits, and untangle other matters of the heart. Pain is a part of life, but you needn’t suffer or manage alone.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
