I would like to support you on the journey towards the life and relationships you desire. Research is now showing the biggest indicator of success-both individual and relational-is nervous system regulation. Together we will shift the outdated patterns that no longer serve you. We will cultivate ease and aliveness through neural reprogramming and psycho-emotional resourcing. Sessions combine neurobiology with holistic and dynamic psychological approaches to create an experiential method of transformation. I specialize in
couples
, individuals and executives. I am trained in PACT
couples
therapy, mindfulness, breathwork, and IFS.

I work with adults from a wide variety of backgrounds who are struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression,
relationship
and family conflicts, trauma, loss, work stress, caregiver stress and difficult life transitions. I provide specialized support for clients with alcohol and substance addictions from both an abstinence-based and harm-reduction view. I also specialize in working with family members who may be struggling with patterns of codependency and managing the effects of living in households where addiction was or is present.

NOTE: I'm in the process of getting credentialed to accept most insurance plans. In the meantime I offer a flexible fee and will provide a "superbill" for all my private pay clients. If you struggle with depression or anxiety, I can help. If you have ADHD or suspect you do, I can support you to cope with it. I can also assist with personal growth: understanding yourself, coping with traumatic experiences, and self-actualization. If you believe that your family or your
partner
(s) could benefit from approachable counseling, I can offer empathetic support there as well.

relationship
is essential to the success of your experience in therapy and my approach is that I am a human in the room first, therapist second. I enjoy serving as a guide for those who are in grief and those struggling with the challenges of being human, life change and transition, anxiety, low self esteem, and trauma.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from different psychotherapy orientations. This allows me to tailor therapy to your needs and allows for a truly collaborative process in deciding where we go and how. Since successful therapy depends on a strong
relationship
between client and therapist, my first priority is nurturing that bond by creating a safe and supportive environment. I believe therapy is most effective when it is flexible, demystified, and client-centered, so you can expect me to be transparent about my ideas and approaches. My style is at times infused with humor and is always warm and direct.

Is your teen anxious, withdrawn, or engaging in behaviors that concern you? Is your child experiencing difficulty in school, with friendships, or managing their emotions? Young people often express their needs and emotions differently than adults, and it can be difficult for parents to understand or know what to do. In my practice, I help young people process what they are experiencing, and help parents understand and feel confident supporting their child's growth and development. In addition, I have extensive experience working with adults struggling with transitions,
relationship
issues, anxiety, and depression.

relationship
challenge, grappling with career questions, grieving a loss, living with anxiety or depression, caring for aging parents, facing your own life-threatening illness, looking for meaning or purpose, asking yourself: "Is this all there is?" - I can help you find your true north again.
Life is about relationships. I specialize in relational issues, which includes self, loved ones, the community, and the greater world. As humans, it is natural to experience periods of intense difficulty, particularly when feeling overwhelmed by competing demands or
relationship
patterns that are no longer effective. Therapy can be a resource to help navigate healthy and authentic relationships, restore life balance, calm anxious thoughts, and regain overall wellbeing. I believe that we teach others how to treat us, and that setting effective and graceful boundaries is an attainable goal. When emotions become overpowering, our tendency is to avoid them, yet they provide important information that can be used to inform and move toward the life you want to live.

Accepting New Clients! (I currently have 3 discounted slots available). I am passionate about working with folks of color who are navigating anxiety, stress, transitions, questions around identity, sadness, and perfectionism. Typically folks who I work with feel that they have do things "right," feel guilty for paying attention to their needs, and experience self-doubt. I see it as my role to provide a space where people can share their stories, tap into self-compassion, own their strengths, and live with confidence.

My approach is warm, cooperative, curious, deeply respectful, attentive to our
relationship
, and focused on your strengths.
My practice is unique because I combine talk therapy with a powerful and gentle form of energy work called Soul Lightening Acupressure. I guide clients to focus on what arises naturally from their inner selves – physical sensations, emotions, thoughts, images – and together we use this inner wisdom as a guide for what needs healing and attention. The energy work will help you feel calm, centered, grounded, and connected with your higher self. As we allow the energy that is stuck in the body from trauma or stress to flow freely again, old patterns of thoughts and behaviors can clear, insights arise, and lasting healing can occur.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
