Telehealth Available: Compassionate Practice with an Open Mind is my motto. Everyone has the power to alter upsetting or confusing feelings, thoughts and behaviors through personal exploration and insight. My aim is to address the specific issues that have led you to therapy at this time of your life. I use therapeutic approaches that are compatible with your unique personality, problems and learning style. Clients describe my approach as caring and compassionate but at the same time straight forward. I am committed to accompanying you on your personal journey towards better mental health.
Knowing that therapy is a delicate process, my approach is to work collaboratively by providing you with support while challenging you to grow. Our collaboration begins with getting to know the facets that make you who you are. This allows me to assess how your strengths can help you with personal growth. My intent is to be with you on your journey to become stronger and more balanced. I draw from multiple orientations to find an approach that best fits you.
I help adults make sense of their experiences in a meaningful way. People come to me who are inquisitive and trying their best, yet still feel detached and longing for a better understanding of their lives. Oftentimes they’ve been in the driver’s seat going 100 miles an hour for years and can’t quite figure out how to slow down. Together, we work to slow fast-paced life, be present, and ultimately, see the once-blurry scenes in a clearer way. Just as each road trip is unique, so too is our tailor-made therapy. If you’re open-minded, motivated, and filled with curiosity, let’s see if we’re a good match!
I am the Executive Director of the La Vie Center which has 40 therapists in two locations and was established in 1980. We have a wide range of specialties and fees, and because of the size of our group we are able to carefully match each client with a therapist that is personally best for them. We have experienced therapists on staff, Christian therapists on staff, offer a free initial consultation and have a sliding scale.
In life, people are sometimes feeling stuck, frustrated, or overwhelmed as a result of current life stressors or have been living with long-standing issues. I have often observed that many people don’t remember their inner resources or feel they never have any inner wisdom when they are in challenging situations. I believe that therapeutic process could help people remember their innate resources such as strengths, wisdom, positive emotions, etc.I will support people in improving their lives by gaining personal insights, making healthier choices in difficult times, and allowing for positive change to occur in their lives.
You are contemplating divorce more often than you’d like to admit. Your marriage has been going downhill for sometime now and your hope for change is dwindling. You feel disconnected from your partner and communication has become impossible. You love them, but you’re not liking them much these days. All you know, is that it can’t keep going like this.
Life is hard, even when it's going well. And then there are the times that it isn't going well, and we need to expand our network of care. Therapy is a helpful process in both times of life. I work to connect with you, follow your needs, support you in the growth and transformation you crave, and help you through the discomfort that change can bring. I believe in the closeness of dualities, such as trauma and resilience, crying and laughing, masculine and feminine, and seeking ways to get these dualities into a closer and more symbiotic relationship with one another.
Are you driven, hard-working, and dedicated - doing "all the things," but "something" is still missing? Is it hard to express your needs? Do you struggle with boundaries? Is life passing you by? Perhaps, you've been cycling through toxic relationship patterns, chasing a false self, or compulsively grasping for professional success. Sometimes you have no idea why you're feeling depressed, anxious, frustrated, or dissociated. Other times, you know the source of your pain but need the support of a professional to help you work through past wounds to heal, live fully, and connect authentically with yourself and those you love.
I have had over 25 years of experience helping people deal with anxiety, depression and traumatic experiences. Creating a safe, trusting relationship is the basis of productive therapy and healing. I am an empathetic listener who uses a variety of approaches to help people reach their goals.

Regardless of what brings a person into therapy, I work actively in an atmosphere of support and empathy to help my patients understand themselves, to heal, and to learn how to live happier, more productive lives.

I became a psychologist because I am interested in people's stories. What has happened? What is it that makes you so sad, so anxious, so stressed? I believe that working together we can make sense of your story and your pain, and find ways to alleviate it. I have been in practice in Pasadena for 27 years. I work with adults, adolescents and children.
Thank you for visiting. It means a lot that you’re here. It suggests you’re sensing something in your life isn’t the way you’d like it to be, and that you’ve decided it’s time for change. A professor of mine once said, “All therapy boils down to one issue–I’m stuck.” Sometimes getting going can be the hardest part. You’ve already taken an important first step. If we want things to be different, we must do things differently. You don’t have to stay stuck. I know sometimes life can feel overwhelming. I want to help you discover new perspectives, new possibilities, new ways of approaching challenges and relating to others and yourself.
I am currently only providing telehealth services. I work with individuals, couples, and families to pay witness to and overcome the traumas and difficulties in their lives. My aim to empower and provide support to those who have anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship stress, and chronic illness.
We all go through emotional storms where we feel emotionally and physically stuck; we worry too much and lose control of ourselves. Do you find yourself thrown off balance by your childhood trauma? Childhood traumatic experiences such as abandonment, abuse, and neglect lead to social anxiety. My approach is solution-focused and tailored to your needs and goals. I am committed to providing a profound sense of safety and offering compassionate and actionable guidance to all my clients.
When you're hurting emotionally - sad, anxious, overstressed, or experiencing pain or loss in a relationship - you want help from someone who is competent, kind, and trustworthy. It is my commitment to provide a safe and supportive place for you to freely share your struggles, challenges, needs, and desires. I work actively and collaboratively to help you develop and use your strengths and resources to successfully face the important problems in your life. My ultimate goal through this process is to support you in discovering new levels of emotional freedom that allow you to live well and love well.
I believe that therapy is a truly personal experience. The decision to seek support is a courageous one. As your therapist, I feel the privilege of being allowed into your life in a way that you may have not allowed others to be. My approach is customized to each of my clients because each one of us is on our own personal journey. My treatments are rooted in psychodynamic, humanistic, and family systems theories. Based on your individual goals and needs, I may integrate mindfulness-based interventions, narrative therapy interventions, or evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive behavioral therapy.
Are you noticing that life is difficult because of anxiety, and depression or trauma? Maybe you feel overwhelmed at work, finding yourself over-thinking interactions with others or being excessively hard on yourself. Others may see you as successful, but you feel like you can never measure up to your own expectations. Perhaps a recent change has left you feeling that the future you imagined is out of reach. Sometimes painful memories take over. You have tried for a long time to cope on your own, but you are finding it more difficult. Maybe it is time to talk to someone.
