My practice is dedicated to helping clients restore a sense of well-being, connection, and purpose in their lives. I work with adult individuals and adolescents throughout California, and my style is collaborative, warm, and direct. I believe in the healing power of interconnection, and consider respect, communication, and acceptance to be foundational in the work that I do. Together we can develop skills to reduce anxiety and overwhelm, heal trauma, cultivate movement in the areas of life that feel stagnant, and uncover old behavior or thought patterns that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling life.

Have you ever been lost in a dark forest? You may have felt helpless, out of control, very scared, or confused. Perhaps you suffer from anxiety, depression, and grief. If so you need someone to hold your hand and walk with you until you get home safely. When you are going through very painful suffering, your brokenness can lead you to discover how your childhood wound might affect your self-esteem and your relationships. I like to work with adult women who have been abused as a child, battered women (intimate partner abuse), and young adult women with childhood wounds.

When we think of art, we typically think of paintings, films, and music. But what about living life? Ancient Greek philosophers believed that living life is an art. They also thought that, with practice, we can learn to be better artists. I believe that to live well, to navigate the challenges and struggles of life in a way that is authentic to who we are and who we want to be, would be nothing short of creating a masterpiece. Just like there is no one right way to create art, there is no one right way to live life. I believe therapy is a collaborative process that aims to create art through the life we live.

I know that the process of beginning therapy can be overwhelming because I’ve been there. It takes vulnerability and courage to ask for help. I also know that therapy works because I’ve seen it--in my own life and in the lives of my clients. I congratulate you on taking this significant step toward finding relief and reconnecting with your most authentic self. I’m so glad you’re here. My practice is grounded in my belief that the therapeutic relationship provides a unique opportunity to explore experiences and parts of ourselves that are hard to look at alone. We are all capable of healing, growth and transformation at any point.

Therapy can be Fun, Exciting, and Inspiring (With hopefully some bits of humor if possible. I get back to everyone within 12 hours.) You're hesitant since it's your first time in therapy; perhaps you have given up hope. You feel empty, hopeless, and depressed. Every day is a struggle due to anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Maybe you have past family trauma that hasn't been resolved. Maybe there are cultural confines that have made you feel shackled, lost, and voiceless. I help people who are dealing with depression and anxiety have a new experience by exploring other possibilities to cope.

We are all doing the best we can and sometimes, we need help. My goal as a therapist is to provide a space where you can safely and confidently explore what has happened, what is going on, and what you want. Awareness is power! Awareness = Choice = Change. I see individuals and folks in relationships. I work with most therapeutic concerns and am particularly passionate about assisting those whose issues and existence are often excluded from the dominant narrative, particularly Black women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and those in Interracial/Intercultural and/or Polyamorous/CNM relationships

Everyone has the innate tendency to seek wellbeing. However, there are times in our lives when we get stuck on our journeys toward growth. We get caught in the storm of life and often don't know how we got there. In the chaos, we struggle to find a way out as we continue to use old ways of being that no longer serve us. The truth is, everyone has the capacity to heal – we may just need someone on the outside to help us along the way. Therapy can be the beacon of light through which you find your way out of the storm. Together, we can explore your past to gain perspective, access your existing resources, and develop new skills.

Hello! congrats on starting one of the most difficult first steps of healing: finding a therapist that is a good fit for you. Starting therapy can feel like such an overwhelming process. Looking through pages of therapists trying to gauge if they can understand you and what you’ve been through, worrying if you will be judged for your decisions, reactions, thoughts, or history. If you are feeling any of that, you are definitely not alone.

I meet you where you are at and welcome you without judgment. I believe strongly in the therapeutic relationship and I make sure to co-create with you a healing space where you can feel safe to be you.

I have extensive experience working with transcultural therapy, building self esteem , anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.
I believe that self-love and acceptance is essential to live a healthy fulfilling life. Often times people shut their inner voice due to their experiences and life circumstances, which can cause a negative impact. I help my clients reconnect with their inner self and be in tune with their gut feeling with mindfulness practice approach. It is my goal as a therapist to provide a safe and welcoming environment where we can collaborate together to make the changes and develop new patterns to help you feel better and live a compassionate life. I believe that each individual has the strength and knowledge to reach their full potential.

I believe everyone's feelings, personal history, strengths, and struggles are unique. At the same time, we are all a part of the connected, human story. But sometimes we can feel alone in our suffering, or even when we try and achieve positive goals. I work with adults, couples, and families by using my diverse training in a way that fits their particular styles and needs. Through relational connection, collaborating on concrete coping skills, and exploration of current and past patterns, I have seen tremendous healing in my partnership with clients.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
