My clients are often individuals navigating life transitions, identity exploration, and the lingering effects of trauma. Many come to therapy seeking relief from anxiety, depression, grief, or the emotional impact of systemic oppression. I work with people from diverse racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, including those within the LGBTQIA+ community, who are looking for a space that is not only affirming but also deeply aware of the broader societal forces shaping their experiences. Clients can expect a safe and affirming space for the exploration of their past, present, and future selves.

It is easy to feel anxious, overwhelmed, and stressed, especially in today’s world. We might even be aware we are stuck in patterns that no longer benefit us. During these times, talking to a therapist can help. I am guided by my belief that our families and our social and cultural systems impact our ability to live fulfilling lives. My goal is to develop a safe and secure therapeutic relationship where we can uncover and address the source of your challenges and past traumas on your terms. Through our work together, we can also develop goals and plans to empower you to improve your relationships with yourself and others.

Most of us have been conditioned since childhood to ignore the messages our bodies are trying to communicate. If you’ve spent years pushing through discomfort but still experience chronic pain, digestive issues, anxiety, PTSD symptoms, depression, or burnout, your body may be calling for attention in ways beyond words. In therapy, we practice slowing down and building awareness of the emotions, narratives, and sensations that shape your experience. Through this process, you can reconnect with yourself, strengthen relationships, and engage with the world in a more meaningful way.

Currently accepting New Patients. Somatically Informed treatment-Emotion acceptance and regulation. Life can become difficult at times. We need support and we need help navigating through the storms. If you have struggled with anxiety, depression, feel like you're stuck in a rut and want to change from unhelpful patterns of thinking or behavior, you have come to the right place. Perceptions become facts in our minds because we become hard wired due to our experiences; but because of that we can also rewire our minds which is where the hope comes in. Change can happen for you and it is never too late to start again.

Pain hurts and is often what brings us into therapy. Buried in the hurt is a small seed of a hope for change. As your therapist, I see you as a whole and complex person and not just your "problems." As safety and trust are created between us, therapy and the therapeutic relationship can be a vehicle for change and healing. The unique relationship we'll build will provide new ways of being and relating out in the world and within you.

Seeking the support of a therapist can be a powerful step toward increasing self-awareness and the ability to change patterns that are no longer working. Change in therapy happens through a process of increased self-understanding, practicing new ways of engaging (with yourself, with others, with a particular problem or set of issues), and development and practice of coping strategies. I collaborate with my clients to identify and work toward treatment goals, using a combination of practical skills and deeper work to explore and repair root issues that may be contributing to current problems.

Our experiences shape who we are. Our identities influence the way we perceive and interact with the world, and the way the world perceives and interacts with us. Navigating the world in my intersectional identity, I understand the importance of providing an intentional and affirming space for folx from marginalized communities. As such, I offer a holistic approach to therapy that addresses the unique needs and identities of my clients. I work with women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA2+, and veteran communities. I also work with individuals who have experienced some form of abuse, trauma, oppression, inequity, or violence.

I believe that when individuals enter therapy, they can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes that have kept them trapped in cycles which do not allow them to live their best lives. Through therapy individuals are free to experience change as they learn the tools to let go of what is not working for them. I am passionate about working with individuals who are committed to bettering themselves and making positive shifts in their lives. Taking time to focus on one’s self is hard work, but there is truly nothing more rewarding, and I believe everyone has the ability to change.

I see couples all the time who love each other desperately but just can’t seem to make it work. Some couples put it this way: “It’s like we keep having the same fight over and over again and nothing ever gets resolved. We just have a big fight, followed by silence, and then we just go back to our daily lives without ever working through the issues until the next fight happens. I don’t know what’s happening or why it’s happening but it’s just awful.”

Recently the world as we knew it was turned upside down. With the onset of Covid-19 and a "Safer at Home" order as well as school closures, parents are under more stress and pressure than ever. I am currently providing individual therapy and parent coaching via our secure video platform. If you find yourself having difficulty managing your frustration and/or anxiety, or feeling the enormous pressure of home schooling your children while keeping up with the other demands in your life (i.e. work, home responsibilities) do not hesitate to reach out. You do not have to figure this out alone.
