I have extensive training in ERP for OCD and Gottman and sex therapy for couples.
I get it, relationships can be hard even if it’s the one you have with yourself. Even more difficult sometimes is admitting it and talking to someone about it. That’s why I try my best to keep it real, open, and (when appropriate) fun while working on these tough parts of life. I’m here to support you in reaching your goals, whether that’s to have a stronger relationship with your partner, improve communication, get out of dating anxiety, or support with any sexual issues.

Member of the American Association of Sexuality, Education Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
Wouldn't it be nice to become clear about how you want to live your life? The dynamic process of a patient and therapist working together so that troubling thoughts and feelings, unrealized dreams and hidden fears can emerge in the therapy session strengthens the ability to grow in meaningful ways, and in intimate relationships. Working with the concept of how individuals balance both the need for autonomy and the need for connection, I will help you sort out how to relate and hold on to yourself.

My specialty focuses on relational health and the body's ability to manage stress, anxiety, rest, and be in healthy relationship with ourself/others -- relationship/ sexuality, trauma resolution ( sexual/physical abuse, early bonding issues, shock trauma), anxiety/stress, grief/loss.
When coping styles or life experiences challenge our ability to navigate the world, we often need a guide to help get a different perspective and learn new skills. Chronic distressful emotions/stress, burnout, negative inner dialogue, communication and relationship problems, problematic conflict styles, unmet needs/desires, trauma symptoms, and other difficulties lead to emotional distress and disease. Decode your emotions, manage stress/anxiety, cultivate wisdom, move from depression to finding your passion, resolve grief/trauma and help reclaim your joy, transform unhealthy habits, improve relationships while focusing on what's meaningful for a lifetime of self-awareness and acceptance.

I work extensively with couples and individuals seeking life-repair due to infidelity and compulsive sex.
Welcome! I specialize in helping couples and individuals overcome the roadblocks they face in the most intimate aspect of their relationship: the intersection of their humanity and their sexuality. In my years of work as a marriage and family therapist, I have found that sex is often about the full spectrum of life-issues which we encounter as human beings.

We all want a therapist to "get us," especially when the topic is sex.
I'm here to help find fulfilling and lifelong sexual/intimate satisfaction, whether you are partnered or single, straight, gay, bi, poly, kinky, a sexual, furry or fandom. These days, so many of us are seeking less stress and more balance. The Bay Area is a worldly place, many come excited by its progressive sexual energy. Others may find sex confusing, challenging to talk about, or even perhaps, their worst nightmare. Most want better ways to communicate, especially about sex; to deepen love and connection or for a path to restore trust and find pleasure. Sex can be juicy and life-affirming, I am here to help you find that.

Sexuality.
Life is an ongoing journey of growth and learning. It involves ups and downs, and ruptures do happen. Do we know how to heal and repair those ruptures? Whether processing grief or trauma, or wondering if intimacy and trust can ever happen, or wondering why we stay stuck in unhealthy patterns that just aren't working, I will help you uncover what it is you really want for yourself and then support you in committing to a path forward. I also welcome the challenge of helping partners listen and feel heard as separate individuals, so that they can collaborate on a shared vision that works for all involved. You deserve more joy!

Lots of us work in teams at work, marriage, or other important areas in life, yet we feel like we have to work alone when it comes to our sex life and relationship.
Are you struggling with intimacy or sexual concerns and not sure how to improve the situation? Sex therapy is a form of therapy intended to help individuals and couples resolve sexual difficulties, such as performance anxiety or relationship problems. It’s normal for clients to feel anxious when seeing a sex therapist, especially for the first time. Many people have trouble talking about sex at all, so discussing it with me as a stranger may feel awkward. I provide a safe space in exploring your sexual concerns, reducing the pain, and reaching desirable goals. I am one of the few Asian American AASECT certified therapists across US.

Sex Therapy

Who is sex therapy for?

Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?

Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?

People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?

Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
