I believe that the power of vulnerability is one of our greatest strengths and ultimately can provide us with a deeper sense of self, security, comfort, and more compassionate towards one another. Coming from a strength-based form of doing therapy and providing support to others, I work to provide my clients with a sense of validation and comfort. As a cis male that identifies as Latinx and as a proud member of the LGBTQIA community, I am able to hold the experience of living in many diverse, cross-cultural emotional experiences that we sometimes may not even know how to begin to understand.
Are you in a toxic or unhealthy relationship? Do you struggle with parent-child conflict? Are you experiencing anxiety, depression or low self-esteem? If so, you have come to the right place! My passion is being of service to others. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental, client-centered environment. While using a collaborative approach, I integrate a mindfulness technique to assist individuals with finding their purpose.
Self-awareness is as pleasant as a stubbed toe in the middle of the night when you get up for a drink of water. Therapy is the light you turn on that forces your eyes shut for a moment while your eyes adjust to the light and you can open them fully. You then shut the light off, adjust your eyes to the dark, more awake than before, and now make your way through the dark with the ability to avoid stubbing your toe.

Life can be wonderful. It can also be stressful and difficult. This may be due to a recent change, buildup of burnout or a traumatic experience that happened at any time in your life. I am here to help you navigate through that because everyone needs someone, sometimes. I will be a source of support and encouragement for you while we will explore what you want, identify obstacles, and learn skills. I use a creative approach throughout the process to encourage and empower you as an active participant in your own life.
Life at times can be difficult. We might find it difficult to talk about events and or situations that we experienced with our loved ones, or we may feel as though no one is around to talk about any challenges we may be having. You are not alone and this and you don't have to feel as though you are. My name is Dave Ramirez, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since May of 2021 and practicing in the field of mental health since 2016. You aren’t feeling like yourself, or perhaps you’re trying to figure out who ‘yourself’ is. You’ve become distant from your friends and family, can’t seem to focus on work or school, and are constantly worrying about the future. All of this has left you feeling overwhelmed and consumed by your thoughts, and in need of extra support. As your therapist, I’ll help you identify and shift emotions, thoughts, and patterns that are keeping you stuck. My goal is to broaden self-awareness, give you the tools to deal with future challenges, and guide you in achieving wellness and a positive sense of self.
I believe that one of the most courageous steps we can take when experiencing mental health challenges is seeking the support of a mental health professional. I believe that our lived experiences and lack of experience influence the way we manage and adapt to life stressors and changes. My hope is to support you in exploring ways in which you can reduce mental health distress and improve your overall mental health well-being.
Do you want a more fulfilling relationship with yourself, and perhaps with others? Do you feel that something is preventing you from living your fullest life and experiencing joy? Do you find it difficult to enjoy the present because of past pains or worries about the future? Please know there is hope if you identify with any of these statements!
I provide therapy for individuals, couples (traditional and non-traditional), adolescents, young adults, and families. In individual therapy, I will assist you in symptom relief and the development of emotional resilience. For couples, we will work together as a team, and I will provide you with the skills and tools that will help you successfully increase your relationship satisfaction. Using a blend of evidence-based practices, I am able to help parents fine tune their parenting skills and guide them in helping their child/adolescent in the development of healthy emotional regulation.
In my job as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I like to work with people who want to heal themselves and improve their interpersonal relationships. As a student, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Human Behavior from the University of California, Irvine in 2010. In 2015, I earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University. My passion for counseling and serving others began when I worked as a peer counselor at my high school, which inspired me to pursue a career in psychology and understand how trauma impacts our relationships.
