What if the loudest voice in your life isn't telling you the truth? Anxiety has a way of making possibilities feel like certainties. Does your mind jump to the worst case scenario, replay conversations long after they're over, scan your body for signs something is wrong, or convince you certainty is just one more Google search away? Maybe intrusive thoughts leave you questioning yourself, or fear has slowly made your world smaller. I help people stop letting anxiety write the story of their lives. Therapy isn't about eliminating anxiety. It's about making sure anxiety is no longer making your decisions.

Wolkig with all age groups, I offer my years of experience in helping clients achieve life enhancing changes. The hypnotic state allows a person to be more open to suggestion. So-called "POSTHYPNOTIC SUGGESTIONS" may improve treatments for many conditions, including: phobias, fears, anxiety, sleep disorder, PTSD, grief and loss. Hypnotherapy can help changing a person's behavior, such as smoking, biting nails, alcohol & drug addiction, obesity, low self esteem and relationship problems. Furthermore, hypnotherapy is particularly useful in treating pain and preparing for surgery. Hypnotherapy proves to be an excellent tool to enhance sport specific skills in golf, tennis, football, baseball and others.

Hello and thanks for your time, attention and ultimately your courage and commitment to healing. We all need a little help sometimes. For nearly 20 years, I've been a therapeutic guide for my clients - often facilitating profound change and forward movement resulting in healthier, happier lives for themselves and those around them. I am both a deep and heart-centered listener; and an active and involved therapist. You'll usually leave with some type of homework if you're open to that... even if it's just observing some aspect of your life more closely and reporting back on it.

After over 15 years battling addiction and experiencing trauma, seeking relief from my own pain, I found a new way of life. Leaving the corporate world, I set on a path of service, connecting to individuals and families seeking healing of their own. Over the last two and a half decades on both sides, I gained invaluable experience working with several organizations in admissions, case management, counseling, aftercare and intervention as well as volunteering time whenever possible. Recovery is about finding healing for the individual and family while learning to communicate in a new way.

When trauma, anxiety, or mood disorders take hold, they can leave you feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that are hard to break. These experiences often shape the way you see yourself and the world around you, leading to difficulty trusting others, managing emotions, or feeling at peace. For many, these struggles aren’t just about isolated symptoms—they’re about carrying the weight of experiences that haven’t yet been processed.

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
