I work with teens and adults ages 15 and up, (and couples) specializing in personality disorders, mood disorders, and faith or spirituality crises.
Struggling with intense emotions, mood shifts, or questioning your faith can leave you feeling unmoored and searching for solid ground. These experiences aren’t about weakness—they reflect the real complexity of living and growing. I’m motivated by the opportunity to walk alongside my clients with compassion and collaboration, and I continue to be inspired by the strength and courage it takes to lean into change. Watching people grow into their authentic selves is one of the most powerful parts of this work.

Licensed in California, with over 13 years of experience I specialize in treatment for Anxiety, Depression, Medical professionals' mental health, Premarital counseling, Spirituality & religion based issues.
My approach to psychotherapeutic treatment resembles a gym workout: first there is the hard, challenging and often frustrating work, followed by a rewarding sense of peaceful healing. Knowing that change is often challenging, I assist and accompany my patients to explore and embrace the benefits of positive change throughout the entire journey of healing.

I am dedicated to supporting individuals on their healing journeys, focusing on trauma, PTSD, spirituality, and helping Veterans.
Are you experiencing upsetting memories, nightmares, flashbacks, or emotional responses to reminders of past trauma? Do you struggle to manage emotions that lead to emotional numbness, detachment, depression, anxiety, or difficulty regulating your reactions throughout the day? Do you find it challenging to maintain relationships, make decisions, or feel safe? At the end of the day, do you feel drained and overwhelmed by the ongoing emotional and mental strain of trauma? Have you addressed these issues in therapy and find yourself searching for a holistic approach to manage trauma-related symptoms beyond traditional talk therapy?

In addition, I also treat religious guilt and help others deal with issues related to spirituality and grief.
Depression and anxiety may be related to job stress, grief/loss, chemical addiction, dysfunctional relationships, past trauma, or low self-esteem. Many clients also have spiritual issues that have been a source of discomfort for years. Career issues and job dissatisfaction/burn-out are also the source of much job stress.

I support couples who want to work hard to have the relationship they desire, but struggle to stop the conflict and find connection. If you struggle to communicate with your partner, don’t really feel heard or seen, wonder why your partner can incite such big and intense emotions in you, or feel more connected to other people in your life than to your partner, I would love to support. If you think “If only my partner would…then we could be happy” or “We used to be able to work things out, but now we get angry over the smallest, most insignificant things. It’s exhausting.” or “How did we get HERE?”, then you are in the right place.

Have you been feeling stuck or limited? Do you believe that you will never feel loved or appreciated? Do you feel that no matter what you do the outcomes are always the same? Or no matter how hard you try you will never be good enough and fail? Well it is not a coincidence. We create negative beliefs and meanings (from our childhood) about ourselves to create these issues. Have you ever said to yourself over and over again "I'll never find love?" or "I'll probably fail" Well, they are not true, but you made it your reality through habitual ways of thinking, feeling, and acting.

Spirituality Therapists

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?

Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?

There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?

Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?

Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
