Exhausted by the way you think about yourself? We are often (if not always) our own worst enemies. Whether this pattern has caused you problems with guilt, shame,
anxiety
, depression, addiction or you name it - the starting point is generally the same. When we embark on the project of therapy you will be asked to put your painful thoughts and feelings into words. As the process unfolds, the strength and fervor used to overthink and condemn yourself will become accessible to use productively in reaching your goals.

The world may feel chaotic, but it doesn’t have to be! To those around you, you have a successful & fulfilling life. You are happy, friendly, & reliable. You appear to have things under control. But on the inside, you don't feel good enough. In fact, you don’t even recognize yourself anymore. It is exhausting to give so much to everyone else & still feel like you are struggling to take care of yourself. Your relationships, both romantic & platonic, are suffering. Some days feel easier to tackle than others, yet you feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, & want so badly to feel the way you once felt. It's time to reframe your perspective.

Welcome! My name is Nathan Taylor and I’d like to thank you for taking the time to look over my profile and to learn a little about me as a therapist. Choosing a therapist can be challenging (and maybe even more than a little
anxiety
provoking!) and it is important to take the time to find someone that you feel may be a good fit to work with towards helping you achieve your goals in therapy. With that in mind, I wanted to share a little about myself and my own path as a therapist. Should you feel like we may be a good fit, I genuinely look forward to meeting and hopefully working with you.

I have experience with depression, stress,
anxiety
, grief, behavioral problems, trauma, OCD, PTSD, domestic violence/abuse and clients who just wanted to talk about their daily and/or relationship struggles.
Hi there, I'm Kristine. I offer tele-therapy only. My philosophy in life is to live life knowing yesterday is gone, today is what matters, and tomorrow is out of our control. It is important to focus on life and be mindful and aware of ourselves. I use this in my practice to help my clients become self-aware and become their happiest selves. What I find most intriguing as a mental health professional is how therapy can be so empowering and life changing when the client believes and is open for a change. I like to incorporate problem solving approach to help clients overcome issues that do not allow them to have a fulfilling life.

Life can be filled with ups and downs and can at times overwhelm us and manifest in the form of self-doubt and
anxiety
. Normal experiences such as relationship issues, parenting challenges, life transitions such as job changes, marriage, divorce, a new baby and entering or completing college can seem difficult to navigate. Working with a therapist can help. My clients are adults and couples of all ages who are willing to consider alternatives, committed to exploring their potential and curious about expanding a capacity to learn new skills and be in a vibrant relationship with themselves and one another.

With children and teens, these include Attention Disorders, Autism and ASD, and problems like
anxiety

"What can you do for my situation," is the question all people ask when they first come to therapy or for psychological testing. Over my 20 years in psychology, I have learned to pause just a moment before answering this. Why? Because finding a quick answer is not better than finding the right answer. Once the problems are understood, my job is to work out the solutions with you, whether that means facing
anxiety
and fear, pulling out of the rut, or facing things that have happened that are hard to forget.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
