You probably already have a theory about what's going wrong. You might even know the solution. Many people do by the time they call. The hard part is rarely knowing what isn't working, it's identifying and working through a process that leads to long term change. This is where I come in. I work with you to 1) clearly identify your therapy goals, 2) identify what would have to shift to attain these goals, 3) develop and implement a plan for change that persists. While insight is valuable, the process of transforming insight into new ways of thinking and behaving is where most people get stuck, and it is where I am most useful.

I often attract people working with themes self-deservingness and emotional overextension, anxiety and obsessive thinking, chronic pain and self-care.
We live in a world that encourages us to ignore, override, and forget our experience. Therapy provides a space for deep self-inquiry where we can learn to become aware and accepting of all parts of ourselves. With curiosity and reflection, I want to support you to explore and understand your experience. When we explore what’s happening for us internally, our beliefs, and the unmet needs we carry, and when we can bring curiosity, care, and increased awareness, then new possibilities open up. We find ways to relate to ourselves and the world with more balance, ease, and belonging.

I incorporate Gestalt and IFS-informed parts work, attachment theory, psychodynamic insight, dreamwork, and iCBT for OCD where appropriate.
My work supports those who feel weighed down by shame. For some this presents as distressing thoughts, rumination, & relationship anxiety. For others it may come in the form of isolation, depression, or addiction. If you are seeking new ways of relating to both yourself and others, therapy can be a transformative path inwards. Despite the many demands that you may be under right now, therapy offers a dedicated time and space to self-reflect and make contact with the parts of yourself that too often get dismissed or suppressed. I am currently accepting new clients, including: couples, individuals, children and teens.

I am an anxiety specialist, trained to work directly with OCD symptoms in adolescents and adults, as well as working with families and couples where OCD is present.
I welcome collaboration and creativity in the therapeutic process! My approach is to listen with curiosity and attention. I enjoy working with neurodivergent adults and adolescents. I support couples and relationships that are experiencing challenges because of different "wiring" that leads to misattunement and dysregulation. I understand the challenges that parents can face in taking care of their complex children. I work with all identities and family structures. I welcome clients who are queer, gender diverse, or in less traditional relationship configurations.

I work with clients experiencing anxiety in everyday life (related to relationships, work stress, or life transitions) as well as anxiety stemming from specific concerns such as panic attacks, OCD, or phobias like driving and flying.

I can effectively guide treatment towards specific goals (for OCD/phobias) and I also see the value in slower talk therapy sessions where you take the lead.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
