I have extensive experience and training working with
women
of color, specifically where it involves oppression and race based trauma (historical and current), Intergenerational Trauma, family dynamics, and the process of self-identity and empowerment.
My passion is working with clients from unique backgrounds and/or experiences who often contact me because they want to work on or through complex trauma, such as oppression based and/or inter-generational trauma. Modalities used addresses the concerns of those whose race, ethnicity, gender identification, income, disability/accessability, and other social factors which often go unrecognized/disavowed. Issues that arise for minority groups, such as oppression, racism, and marginalization, are relevant, recognized, validated, safely contained, and honored by me.

I work online with clients around the world, in particular the Middle East and California. Many of my clients are expats and many are locals living in areas where psychotherapy is either underdeveloped or unavailable. Some are busy professionals in California and elsewhere who prefer to do video-based therapy from home or hotel. One of my specialities is working with
women
who are navigating the sexual, spiritual and social challenges of menopause. I like to help people who are feeling lonely, uncertain, depressed, anxious and/or confused find their way to a more comfortable and satisfying life.

As a
woman
, a mother, and a person who has gone through therapy, I believe deeply in both what therapy has to offer as well as my own specific skill set.
Life has its ups and downs and I will be there to listen, witness and support you as you move from surviving to thriving. When you feel stuck or overwhelmed, I can help you find new tools to increase your ability to cope. It can feel vulnerable to share your thoughts and concerns with a stranger. My job is to create a safe, non-judgmental space, for you to process where you've been and explore new ways of being. I work with individual adults, teens, and their parents to help create a more fulfilling life - which only you yourself can define.

Body-mind therapy for
women
and families with young children (ages 2-8 years old). Perhaps you are struggling regularly with how you see and feel about yourself, or relationships feel difficult and unsatisfying. I enjoy creating a therapy to address your particular concerns, and respect and support your values and personality. Psychotherapy is quite a unique experience, it does help with alleviating symptoms and coping with difficult life circumstances, it is also a unique relational way to see and find your true self, an opportunity to process your feelings, develop insights, and get support in discharging traumas and more.

Are you ready to take a big step to move through deep-rooted issues? Do you feel frustrated that things are just not changing quickly enough in your life? If you’ve tried traditional or talk therapy without satisfaction, you may be ready to try something new that targets the core of your issues! Perhaps you’re working with career challenges, a difficult relationship or a significant life transition. If you have a history of anxiety, depression, childhood trauma or acute adult trauma, it can be hard to make changes on your own, but healing is possible!

I am a bi-racial, queer, and highly sensitive cis

Often times in life we have experiences that cause us to disconnect from our true selves. This can lead to and come from fear, shame, and uncertainty that impacts our relationships to others and ourselves. Reconnecting to our innate wisdom and remembering who we are can be a challenging process and my goal is to work with you to journey back to yourself. Drawing on depth work, art therapy, mindfulness, dream work, and emotional and somatic processing, I will work at your pace to navigate what is most meaningful for you as we find ways for you to authentically reconnect to yourself and others.

Does this sound familiar? ~ You are a multi-passionate being and also an undercover artist, healer, leader, and creative; yet, you feel guilt for prioritizing your own emotional and mental wellness. ~You are aware of the pressure to perform under expectations and judgments imposed by your family, work, and cultural standards. ~ You have achieved success but you don't believe you deserve it. ** In our work together, you will feel seen and supported as you embrace your natural resilience and creativity. You will rediscover your astonishing, healing story.

I specialize in working with young adults, parents, college students,
women
, folks in the LGBTQIA+ community, and people who have chronic illness and disabilities.
The single most consistent predictor of success in therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. I prioritize creating a trusting relationship. My approach is collaborative, relational, and interactive. I balance listening deeply with gently challenging clients to make meaningful change. I am not a therapist who sits back silently. I also do not presume that any given technique or my own experience hold all the answers in our journey together. Rather, I draw on evidence-based, relational practices, more than a decade of clinical practice, and your lived experience, cultural and personal practices, beliefs, and values.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
