No one comes to a therapist because they need a lecture. You're here because you need a partner on your personal journey to healing. Good therapy is an invitation into a dialogue, not a monologue where someone "thera-splains" yourself to you. It's my passion to help my clients with self-esteem, depression, anxiety, parenting and learning to find enjoyment in daily life. I use LGBTQIA+ affirming, social justice-oriented, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches to support my clients. My areas of expertise include transitions, depression/anxiety and positive parenting (including how to accept and support your LGBTQIA+ child).

Are you feeling anxious, stretched thin, and burnt out? Perhaps on the outside you're generous and caring, always anticipating the needs of others, but on the inside you’re overwhelmed and resentful. In therapy, you’ll explore the experiences that are causing you emotional pain. Maybe a parent or someone in your life has been oblivious to your needs, or holds their love conditionally, leaving you feeling worn out, raw, and defenseless. Although it can be challenging, learning to slow down, tune in to your feelings, and set appropriate boundaries is essential for your wellbeing.

We were born to connect with ourselves and others, to be alive in our bodies and awake in the world, and to anchor into a sense of purpose. Painful experiences and negative patterns can disconnect us from our innate ability to full-heartedly live life. When you are stuck, dissatisfied in relationship, challenged by life transition, constrained by depression or anxiety, unable to heal from trauma, or simply feeling called to step more fully into your best self, therapy can be a powerful ally. I offer tools you can use to reconnect with your own power, agility, and direction.

Self esteem
enhancement, couples counseling and parenting are specialties.
Life guarantees all of us joy and despair. Curiously, our highly individualistic culture seems to promote self sufficiency. In reality, major life transitions, relationship, family and professional challenges are much more manageable with consistent support. Through reflection, collaborative brainstorming and assistance in noticing response patterns, clients in my care become more aware. This growing self awareness uncovers outdated beliefs, surfaces issues that need tending and, most importantly, gives folks more agency around their daily life choices. I enjoy guiding this discovery with individuals, couples and parent/child teams.

Self Esteem Therapists
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
