My goal is to help you sleep and feel better soon. Treatment for insomnia can help improve your mood, your quality of life, and your sense of well-being. I use CBT-I, the "gold standard" for insomnia treatment, to insure that you get the best care available. Most of my patients see significant improvements in their sleep quality within four to five sessions of beginning treatment. If you suffer from insomnia, and would like to decrease or stop your use of sleeping pills, I can help you find effective, drug-free relief.
The challenges of growing up in today's rapidly changing society are enormous. Children and adolescents need to be equipped with skills for survival and growth that were never before imagined. Some of the more common issues I help my young clients with include anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicide ideation, perfectionism, self confidence, challenging peer relationships, social anxiety and difficult family dynamics. I also work with parents offering them guidance and support.
As humans, we are brilliantly complex, wired for connection, attachment, and survival. Our experience of joy and suffering are innately human and are connected to our physical and emotional wellness--inseparable realms. In somatic psychotherapy we hold space for the body to have a language of its own, honoring what it has to say, so that we may more clearly see what is beneath the surface. As a somatic psychotherapist, I am a collaborator, guide and mirror, supporting you in increasing your own sense of exploration of conscious and unconscious patterns of behaviors, beliefs, body signals and cues.

Welcome! Taking the first step towards getting help is not always easy and I am here to make that transition as clear and safe as possible. My specialties include eating disorders, body image, depression and anxiety. You will find I provide a warm, compassionate, down-to-earth environment where together we will work towards developing insight and awareness into the roots of the behaviors, beliefs and patterns that are holding you back from reaching your fullest potential and living the life that you want.
Are you bothered by an upsetting event (s) that you cannot get out of your mind? Do you know something is holding you back, perhaps from your past, but you can't seem to shake it? Have you tried traditional talk therapy, but your past still has a grip on you? Exciting breakthroughs have been advanced in our understanding of how our brains mange memories. The latest research shows that non-traditional therapies like EMDR, can more quickly & deeply help us heal and recover from traumatic events and live more satisfying lives.
I practice both individual psychotherapy and assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in understanding and addressing coping skills, anxiety, self-esteem, body image, and family conflict. Through therapy, assessment, or consultation, I provide support in navigating individual complexities. Whether I am working with children, teenagers, or adults, my aim is to help those I work with manage overwhelming emotions, navigate challenging situations, and address barriers standing in the way of contentment and clarity.
Are you worried about your child? Are they having trouble in school? Not making friends? Has being a parent become really stressful?
Parenting is always a challenge and can be even harder if your child is having emotional or behavioral difficulties. My goals are to help children reach their maximum potential emotionally, socially, and behaviorally and help parents be empowered and have more effective parenting skills. I specialize in working with children who have emotional, behavioral and academic difficulties including ADHD, anxiety, depression, poor frustration tolerance, loss of a loved one, trauma, family conflict, and interpersonal relationship difficulties.
I view psychotherapy as a collaborative process between therapist and client, where the relationship is part of the healing process. My style is active, creative, and holistic. I will meet you where you are, not-judging, engaged and curious. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, relationship distress, life transitions, and existential dilemmas (questions about the meaning of life, questions about dying and death). I also have experience working with individuals struggling with dual diagnosis (addiction and mental health issues combined).
In these difficult economic times, long-term psychotherapy may not be an option for everyone. Expressive Arts and Drama Therapy are particularly well suited for helping you arrive more quickly at the heart of the matter and helping you with solution-focused therapy for life's transitions when you are standing at the crossroads - career change, re-locating, major decisions in order to adapt to circumstances and get your life back on track.
I believe three core things about therapy: 1. People are inherently healthy. 2. Therapy is not just about symptoms. 3. If the therapy is working, you'll know it. Traditionally, psychotherapy has been associated with illness while wellness and depth have been left to the self-help movement. The theory I practice sees everyone as sound at the core. As a result, there is no ceiling on "getting better." Someone with symptoms wants to feel more like him or herself, which I aim to make happen as quickly as possible. At the same time, I help people to achieve clear interpersonal, professional, and creative change.
I help people break out of depressive cycles and leave anxiety behind. We will discuss your goals for seeking a therapist and work to take the small and big steps to get you there. Many of my clients say they appreciate my warmth, non judgmental approach and incisive questions to get you thinking. Our work will focus on having a healthy relationship with self and others. 20+ years as a licensed therapist and EMDR practitioner. I am a skilled, affirming Gender Therapist who is welcoming toward LGBTIQA & BIPOC folks. Spanish Speaking

What I believe: Relationships are unique and come in countless shapes and sizes over time. Right now, relationships are already happening and changing in your life every day. Love is available in ourselves when we choose it, and choosing love in ourselves brings more love into our relationships. Yes, all relationships shift and change, and at the same time, love can regenerate again and again in the most mysterious moments and forms if we stay open and curious.
Have you been strugging with Depression, Relationship issues, or Life Transitions? I can help you find a place of acceptance and healing through our relationship and work together. I have been helping people change their lives for 20 years. I use an interactive, relational approach to help guide you toward a higher level of self-awareness, and improved self-esteem. I believe therapy works through exploring your relationships to others, and by developing our relationship and connection to each other. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for us to explore who you are and who you want to be.
My approach is friendly and collaborative; working with you to explore reactions, emotional patterns, and thought processes. I encourage honest exchange at your own pace while providing tangible techniques to take into your life. I incorporate mindfulness practices from my training as a yoga teacher. My professional background includes two decades of experience in the conflict resolution field with a focus on assisting individuals and teams who have workplace and academic concerns. I work with people from a variety of backgrounds including executives, university faculty, medical professionals, engineers, and people who work in tech and startups.
The decision to pursue therapy is often not an easy one. However, in working with a therapist, most people find a sense of relief that comes with learning that change is possible. Whether your concerns are long-standing patterns or new adjustments, through collaborative exploration within a therapeutic relationship, new ways of relating and coping can develop.
I have extensive experience as a therapist working with individuals, couples & families. I communicate genuine care & respect, empathy & non-judgment which creates an environment of safety & understanding, while a belief in goal-oriented therapy promotes positive shifts & sustainable changes. My clinical orientation is informed by psychodynamic, narrative & family systems theories.
