Welcome to my practice. I’m glad you’re here. Being human isn’t easy, and you don't have to work through life's challenges alone. I work with clients to inspire your innate wisdom and restore a sense of wellness to your life. I seek to treat the entire person not just a narrow set of symptoms. This could mean finding hope in darkness, calm in a storm, perspective when lost in the woods, or a steady hand to help you up after you’ve fallen. If we work together, the therapy process will be unique as a truthful reflection of your unique self—including your personal history, strengths, challenges, goals, and present capacity.

I help individuals, couples, and families navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, loss, and relationship challenges.
Maybe you’ve spent years holding everything together while quietly feeling more and more disconnected from yourself, your relationships, or your sense of meaning and purpose. I work with couples, men, and thoughtful individuals seeking deeper connection, emotional honesty, and a more grounded way of living. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and focused on helping clients reconnect with themselves, others, and what matters most.

I also enjoy working with individual adolescents and adults, particularly around issues of identity formation, life transitions, difficult family or partner relationships, spirituality, grief, trauma and anxiety.
My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment to explore all experiences or concerns confidentially, honoring the vulnerability and courage that therapy often requires. I integrate psychoeducation because I believe being informed empowers us. I am also passionate about the therapeutic benefits of nature and have served as a wilderness guide.

Every person has their own reasons for seeking therapy. Some choose it during a period of major life transitions or hardships, while others may seek out therapy in order to deepen their understanding of themselves. By using a psychodynamic and object relations model I am able to consider the whole person rather than pure symptom reduction. I believe there is both conscious and unconscious meaning to symptoms.

Becoming a therapist was my first choice, a passion I discovered during my sophomore year as an undergrad. Of course, it was not my first major, as I thought I would attend medical school. However, due to a car accident, I had to take a break from classes with laboratory courses, which led me to psychology. The best methods to pique anyone's interest are, in my opinion, abnormal psychology and personality psychology; they started my passion for learning more. After earning my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, I applied for my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialty in Latino Family Studies.

People often come to therapy in response to something difficult—a breakup, a layoff, a loss, grief, or another painful circumstance.
I approach therapy with warmth, compassionate curiosity, and honest reflection, always keeping the focus on the present moment. My work is shaped not only by my academic training but also by my lived experience, which allows me to meet people with authenticity and understanding. As a supportive and open-minded therapist, I see therapy as a collaborative journey. Together, we explore self-discovery, nurture personal awareness, and open space for more authentic connections with others. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself carries a unique power to transform our lives in real and meaningful ways.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
