Do you ever feel stuck in your head, with your thoughts overwhelming you and no sense of connection to your body? What if the root of your struggles lies in bridging the gap between your mind and body?
Your path to wholeness begins with mind-body connection. For example, your mind may feel overwhelmed with thoughts, meanwhile your body may feel heavy and lost. You may be experiencing physical manifestations of anxiety, such as biting your lip or fidgeting. If you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth challenges, premarital issues, or attachment struggles, therapy can offer reconnecting with yourself.

Trauma is a lasting emotional response resulting from experiencing one or more distressing events that can change our sense of safety, sense of self and the ability to self-regulate, navigate daily interactions and relationships. For almost 20 years I have worked with survivors of sexual trauma, abusive relationships and intimate partner violence. Since 2016 I have been practicing individual and group therapy with survivors and I have used various therapy modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to process traumatic and adverse experiences that aids in reaching an adaptive resolution.

I work with women who are tired of trying to earn their worth. On the outside, you seem confident, capable, and put together. But inside, you carry a persistent fear that you're somehow not good enough—that if people saw the real you, they'd be disappointed. So you work hard to be who everyone wants you to be—dependable, successful, easygoing, and polite. The one "we don't have to worry about." You put pressure on yourself to get things right and often hold yourself to standards you would never expect from anyone else. Perfectionism and people-pleasing are second nature, and no matter how hard you work, it rarely feels like enough.

I believe healing happens in spaces where we are able to be open to the full spectrum of our experience. My work is grounded in presence, relationship, and a deep respect for each person’s capacity to heal. As a psychotherapist, I offer a space that is calm, grounded, and deeply present — a space where you can feel, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. My relationships with clients are genuine. More than any particular modality, I value the human relationship itself and the possibility of being deeply seen.

If you feel stuck in "treatment resistant depression," want relief from anxiety, or a desire to break free from the pain of CPTSD - I offer relational, somatic therapy and ketamine-assisted therapy (KAP) when clinically appropriate.
Your throat feels restricted, your chest is heavy, and it hurts to breathe. Trauma doesn’t just live in the mind, it takes up space in the body, shaping how you move, how you connect, and how safe you feel in your own skin. Maybe you drank or used again. Maybe you stopped taking your medication, telling yourself it will be different this time. Maybe you’re exhausted from carrying it all. Addiction, depression, shame, overwhelm, and suicidal ruminations do not have to control your life any longer. No story is too much, no experience too messy, and no one is beyond the reach of care.

Life transitions can quietly unsettle how you understand yourself and your life. You may feel less steady in roles or identities that once fit, or find yourself questioning long-held expectations. Therapy can offer a place to examine what’s unfolding without reducing it to symptoms or asking you to push through.
I work with adults navigating identity questions, unresolved experiences, life transitions, and midlife change. I also have advanced training in menopause-informed and midlife mental health.

This is accomplished with a mix of mindfulness/ somatic exercises and talk therapy.
Serenity, Equanimity, Peace of Mind. Are these qualities sorely missing from your life? You are not alone. Most Westerners experience rushed living, lack of acceptance, anxious and depressed mood - what inevitably amounts to suffering. While pain is a universal experience, with practice suffering can become optional. But lack of skill, low motivation, and general haggardness of life prevent many from consistent self-care which can alleviate suffering. If this is your story, The Serenity Center was opened with you in mind. Reducing suffering to manageable levels is an achievable goal - and all you may need is a skillful guide.

I offer somatic and movement-based therapy for anxiety, stress, and trauma-related patterns, especially when insight alone hasn't led to change.
You may find yourself caught in patterns that are hard to change, even when you understand them. You might struggle with anxiety, overthinking, or constant internal pressure—at times feeling busy and analytical, and at others shut down or unsure how to put your experience into words. You may react more strongly than you’d like, or avoid what matters to you. Even with insight, lasting change hasn’t happened. You may be feeling the effects of ongoing stress or past difficult experiences, and want a way forward that goes beyond thinking alone.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
