Sometimes we must take a look at the painful or stressful feelings that complicate our lives and prevent us from finding satisfaction. Obstacles may stand in the way of leading more meaningful lives. We may feel stuck or helpless to take important steps, work toward goals and improve relationships. If you can relate, feeling anxious, sad, depressed, stressed, etc., perhaps it’s time for therapy. Anxiety is overwhelming, depression is often debilitating, and maybe you are wondering if therapy can help. Therapy provides the opportunity to explore feelings of depression, anxiety, helplessness or hopelessness.

Day in and day out, we’re bombarded with messages about how we should be, and many of us find ourselves constantly trying to fit a mold. I create a space of reprieve from the pressures of everyday life – a space where you can relax and be your truest self without fear of judgment. I believe strongly in the power of honest connection to heal the wounds of self-doubt and self-criticism. My priority is to create a space that is inclusive, safe and above all YOURS. I am not here “heal,” but to work alongside you while you grow.

I provide therapy in English and Spanish for children, teens, adults, and families, with training in trauma-informed care, PCIT, and evidence-based treatments to support clients across the lifespan.
Life can feel heavy at times. You might be anxious, overwhelmed, grieving, or noticing the same patterns show up again and again. Therapy does not have to be about fixing you. It can be a place to slow down, make sense of what is happening, and feel supported while you do. I offer collaborative, thoughtful therapy for children, teens, adults, and families, always shaped around who you are and what you need. Sessions are available in English and Spanish, in person in Los Angeles and online throughout CA.

Dr. Cindy works with adults across all walks of life — from high-achievers navigating burnout and identity shifts to individuals rebuilding after difficult seasons, to those who simply know they're capable of more and are ready to stop getting in their own way. Sessions draw from somatic (body-based) therapy, cognitive behavioral frameworks, and trauma-informed clinical practice. Clients come in feeling reactive, disconnected, or quietly overwhelmed — and leave with a clearer sense of themselves, stronger emotional regulation, and the internal tools to navigate whatever life brings next.

Life can get complicated and there is no handbook on how to handle things like depression, anxiety, addiction and relationship problems. It is important to know two things: 1. you are not alone, 2. challenges are always opportunities to grow and change your life. You are probably here because it's time to "do something different." Let us help guide you through this journey!

You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. Perhaps you’re living with depression, ADHD, OCD, or grief. Maybe you’re navigating difficult relationships, or carrying the effects of childhood or medical trauma. Some of my clients are cancer patients or survivors working through the emotional impact of diagnosis and treatment. Others are immigrants seeking evaluations to support their legal cases. I also work with couples, using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners reconnect, feel heard, and rebuild trust. Most of my clients want to feel lighter, calmer, and more in control of their lives.

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT) Therapists
Does parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) work?
PCIT is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to be effective across domains, including for children with behavioral problems, those on the autism spectrum, and those who have experienced early childhood trauma. Further, studies have found that the skills developed through PCIT benefit not only the child in therapy but also siblings, as the parent internalizes lessons learned in sessions and is able to incorporate them into interactions with other family members.

How long does PCIT last?
The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and treatment lasts, on average, between 12 and 20 sessions. Factors that influence treatment duration include how regularly a client attends treatment, how much progress is achieved between sessions, the particular skills that need development, and the extent to which the parent and therapist see improvement.

Can PCIT be done online?
PCIT is among the therapy types best suited for video sessions. Therapists are able to communicate with parents with essentially the same ease, and by observing the parent and child at home in their normal environment, the therapist may gain additional insight into their interactions, as the child will have their normal toys and may feel more comfortable and act more naturally than they would in a therapist’s room.

Does PCIT help parents?
In addition to the skills parents develop through the treatment, PCIT has also been shown to reduce frustration, stress, and depression in parents and promote confidence and a sense of calm when dealing with their children. The desired outcomes of PCIT include a reduction in defiant and aggressive behavior by children and an improvement in communicating their feelings productively, complying with parental instruction, and behaving according to parents’ rules. Growth in these areas can be a relief for parents.
