I am often asked, "What kind of patients do you see in your practice?" "People just like you and me", I respond. The one thing that they all have in common is their desire to connect, to be heard, to express themselves without being concerned about saying too much or too little.

Treatment types I use include ACT, CBASP, CBT, DBT, IFS, and IPT, as well as existential and positive psychology frameworks.
Do you feel disorganized, discouraged, disengaged, or distressed? Do you experience intense sadness? Have you noticed decreased memory, reduced mental agility, or diminished emotional agility in school or at work? Are you struggling to focus, attend, and concentrate? Have others commented on your increasing frustration or anger? Psychological challenges related to anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and neurodevelopmental disorders — such as AD/HD and Autism Spectrum Disorder — can significantly impair academic progress, career advancement, interpersonal relationships, and other areas of functioning.

What if you stopped giving fear so much power? Fear tells you to shy away from what you truly want and to censor who you actually are. Over time, hiding and lying can make it hard for you to feel certain about what you want so you wait around for people to tell you what to do. It’s become easy to depend on others to make decisions for you. But you realize that this is not the life you want to lead. You want to trust in yourself and not constantly rely on others for reassurance. You want to be you and I’m here to help you get there.

My role as a therapist is to work with you collaboratively to address your needs, to guide you in understanding how your past experiences shape your present self; to help you in identifying your thought patterns and emotions that affect your behaviors; and to coach you so that you are equipped when dealing with different life challenges. I believe being in an equilibrium state is one of the keys to healthy well-being; however, we often face many challenges in our life that could easily lead to a disequilibrium. By working as a team, you will eventually be able to restore the balance and maintain a healthy well-being.

Using approaches like IFS (Internal Family Systems), CBT-E, CBT-AR, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy, we’ll work together to reduce shame, increase emotional regulation, and create sustainable change without pathologizing who you are.
Do you feel out of control? Like you need to control everything just to feel okay? Many of my clients struggle with cycles of shame, control, and overwhelm that show up as eating disorders, OCD, body dysmorphia, and addiction. These patterns often develop as ways to cope with trauma, identity stress, and feeling unsafe in the world.

I work with high-achieving women — working mothers, entrepreneurs, and women in the perinatal period — who are accomplished by every measure and quietly running on empty. They come to me carrying anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, and the invisible weight of doing it all without enough support. Many are navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or a major identity shift and don't recognize themselves anymore. I help them move forward by combining evidence-based clinical tools with genuine understanding of the world they're navigating — so they can feel steady and clear again.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
