I work with adolescents and young adults. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults who are having a particularly difficult time with major life transitions. I also work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, difficulties with relationships and individuals who are struggling with a particularly difficult period or event in their lives. Regardless of what I am helping with, my treatment begins and ends with the therapeutic relationship. My first priority in treatment is creating a safe, warm and caring environment for my client from which all other work is built on.
My work is influenced by current neurobiological research and research regarding our early attachments to our caregivers. My work concentrates on understanding, strengthening and often repairing the connection between our mind and our body.
My practice is fluid and will often include more active therapeutic methods for those children and adolescents who are hard to reach and connect with verbally.
