Yes...therapy can help you: Be like the teens, who finally feel fully understood. Or the adults, who really need an attentive guide during a mid-life crisis. Or be like the ones who just got off-track in life, but were able to get refocused on their path. Or the folks with personal trauma who dive deeper with Brainspotting. Or be like those who use Art Therapy or SandTray Therapy to express themselves and thus, grow a level of self-respect that everyone can see, and appreciate. Let’s create a therapeutic space full of TRUST so that you can safely heal. My work begins with some assessment and some emotional first aide, and then...

I have particular expertise helping adults resolve traumatic experience, including physical and sexual abuse, criminal assault, and witnessing traumatic events.
It is possible for life to be deeply satisfying, fulfilling whatever the beginning and however difficult or confusing the present time might seem. For over 35 years in my practice, I have witnessed this again and again, and have developed a deep respect for the stamina and resilience of the human spirit. I work to provide you with the kind of supportive context that can help you find your innate gifts, and make real the changes you envision. I focus on the ways awareness of difficulty or pain can be a key to hidden strength and renewal.

I look forward to meeting each client, hearing their story, and guiding them to heal their trauma so they can move forward and embrace life.
I have over 30 years experience counseling children and adolescents. I have always had a passion to help people and my interests and experience as a therapist have led me to working with children and trauma. When a person is very upset, their brain cannot process information as it does ordinarily. Highly emotionally charged experiences become ‘frozen in time’ and are not processed in the usual way. My goal is to help reprocess those events to a resolution that is life-affirming and strength-building.

As an EMDR Certified Therapist, the goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.
Life is exciting and beautiful. And, at the same time it can be painful and chaotic. There are parts of us who want to run away, who want to feel better, or just want to give up. Many of us have the pieces of our puzzle, but we may be looking for a missing piece, or cannot see the full picture. That is where my passion to come alongside you belongs. I enjoy looking at the pieces together with you, putting them into perspective, curiously looking for a missing piece, and finding the spot that “fits best” and feels right. My strategy is to collaborate with you because “you know you best.”

We all have experienced trauma whether it's being bullied or blind sighted by any life event.
Yes! For making yourself a priority. The search may be daunting, but hang in there! You are worth the investment of energy, time & perseverance. Some of the reasons you may seek out a therapist? If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, stressed, or in need of healing. Sometimes one needs guidance or coaching for specific situations, or perhaps a neutral party from which to be truly heard. I offer a trusting environment to vent, heal, expand on coping skills, and make desired shifts. I have 20+ years of being in practice, and am grateful you took this time.

Hello! I’m glad you found me here. I have significant experience using Family-Based Treatment (FBT), the leading evidence-based treatment for adolescents with anorexia nervosa that can effectively treat other eating disorders as well. I also have ample experience in treating adolescents and young adults with eating disorders utilizing other common modalities such as CBT and DBT. People with eating disorders often struggle with other obstacles such as trauma and anxiety. As a result, I've become competent in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an evidence-based treatment for trauma and other stressors.

In addition, I specialize in treating trauma/ PTSD.
I believe human beings are capable of incredible change! If you desire positive change in your life and are willing to work for it then it is absolutely possible, especially with my help. I believe encouragement goes a long way, but being that I am also direct and take an interactive approach to therapy with my clients, I will provide you with more than a listening ear and the ever cliché "uh huh". I will give you useful insight and feedback regarding what seems to be keeping you "stuck" and preventing you from growing and becoming more of the person you want to be.

I am also trained in couples counseling, trauma treatment, and EMDR.
I believe joys and struggles in life stem from relationships. The relationship may be with yourself as you seek to establish your identity, values, and goals. Your relationship with others, such as your parents, spouse, children, co-workers, or friends, may need to be developed, redefined, clarified, or understood. Trauma, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem are a few of the things that can hinder people in building the relationships they want. I am passionate about helping individuals, women, couples, and families build the relationships that bring them a sense of belonging and satisfaction.

If you are looking for a clinician who can utilize her trauma-focused skills in one session, then recognize the need for and provide talk therapy in another, then I am a good fit.
Open spaces currently available. Are you feeling stuck, depressed and are finding it hard to feel joy in most things? Are your nerves getting on your nerves? Do you look in the mirror and ask, “Who are you and what have you done with the happy and confident person I used to know?” Life can be challenging and when faced with adversity, moving forward can seem impossible. Even if you aren't having current feelings of anxiety or depression but find yourself going through a tough time, are feeling overwhelmed, or are frustrated by loved ones and feel powerless, you can use support. That’s what I provide - a safe & supportive space.

My goal is to help individuals, couples, and families to heal, release their traumas without overwhelming them, to help them find healthier ways of communicating and regain the ability to live with themselves as well as others.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and neuropsychotherapist who finds great joy in assisting people during trying times back into a healthier and happier life. I have a warm and non-judgemental approach that provides an opportunity to address both short and long term goals, crisis situations, and long-term underlying issues. I help my clients explore their past and how it is showing up in their present. Working with those struggling after trauma led me to become EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and CRM (Comprehensive Resource Model) trained and BSP (Brainspotting) certified.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
