Hello sensitive soul - I'm Trinity, a holistically trained therapist dedicated to helping women living with chronic pain, stress, and anxiety. I take a mindful, somatic, creative approach to therapy, and work hard to create a space where the women I serve can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and develop skills to last a lifetime. Together, we’ll explore ways to ease emotional overwhelm which often results in chronic pain, and work collaboratively to build resilience, helping you move toward a life free from chronic pain and anxiety to a life you love waking up to.

Trauma may manifest in your life as all kinds of disruptions, such as anxiety, depression, burnout, nightmares, family conflicts, or relationship struggles. Yet, I see them as how your pain has found its own way to show up in this particular form. I approach this work with a trauma lens, yet it doesn’t mean that I will be searching for your “brokenness”. I see trauma as an inherent aspect of the human condition, and that we are all continuously healing from traumas, whether “big” or “small”, personal or collective.

Therapeutic tools and methods I incorporate include cognitive-behavioral and attachment-based approaches, somatic and mindfulness-based tools, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic methods as appropriate.
You're burnt out. You want to let go of the past, the perfectionism, the people-pleasing. You want freedom from toxic relationships, from energy & expectations that no longer serve you. You want to enjoy your life in the here and now but struggle under the weight of anxiety & familial pressure. If this resonates it’s likely you experienced dysfunctional or even abusive family dynamics growing up and are still in the process of healing. You deserve to live a life free from the burden of trauma-to heal, build healthy relationships, break generational patterns, improve self-esteem, establish clear boundaries, & love your life.

In somatic psychotherapy we hold space for the body to have a language of its own, honoring what it has to say, so that we may more clearly see what is beneath the surface.
Curiosity, compassion, and challenge, will guide us as we work to identify and shift patterns that no longer serve you and explore alternate routes for moving through your inner landscape and the interpersonal world. I work with individuals, couples/families, and am particularly interested in working with psychotherapy graduate students, trainee/interns.

In our work together, I bring a trauma-informed, somatic approach to help you slow down, tune into your body, and understand the deeper patterns driving your anxiety and overthinking.
Do you find yourself overthinking every interaction or lying awake replaying conversations, worrying about what others think? On the surface, things may look fine—you’re functioning, showing up, keeping it together—but inside it can feel like a storm that won’t settle. You may feel anxious, self-critical, and exhausted from trying to keep everyone happy while losing touch with your own sense of peace and clarity.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
