I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2004 and am currently serving as the Director of the Center for Transformational Therapy in Nevada City. I am accepting clients who are interested in moving beyond ego psychology and engaging in deeper transformative work. The transformational process involves establishing a relationship with Awareness and through that relationship discovering the capacity to transcend our core deficiency stories and reactive emotions. The realization of fundamental happiness occurs through this process as the natural shift in identity from the ego or the 'me' to the Self.

I bring a broad perspective to my practice having studied clinical psychology and systems theory abroad before bringing my practice to the US more than a decade ago. I’ve spent years training in advanced, deep-dive modalities like Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, IFS, and EMDR, specializing in helping people untangle complex trauma, anxiety, relational chaos, and intense emotional reactivity. If you are scrolling through profiles today feeling completely overwhelmed, I want you to know that you are already helping yourself and that you don't have to carry it alone.

On the outside, it appears you have it all together. You have an ideal life with a great job, a good marriage and a lot of friends. But something is off. On the inside, you feel alone: no one knows the burdens you carry. You have tried everything you know to do, but still feel depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. You're terrified of the moment when everyone figures out you are a fraud. You know on paper you have a good life, and you're confused why you don't feel happy. You have come to the right place. Therapy can help you resolve those internal thoughts, feelings and stuck points that no one else sees.

If you are reading this, something in your life is no longer working the way you would like, and the proverbial train has jumped the track. You may feel stuck in familiar patterns, lonely even when you’re not alone, or weighed down by grief, resentment, or exhaustion that hasn’t shifted with insight or time. You might be navigating loss, divorce, parenting strain, addiction, betrayal, or a quiet sense that the life you’re living no longer fits.

Often we can sense that something inside of us is ready to shift, even if we're not yet sure what that looks like. Many clients come in feeling disconnected from themselves or aware of patterns they no longer want to carry. They’re looking for a space to slow down, turn inward, and understand themselves more deeply. The work I engage in with clients typically involves strengthening a sense of self, reconnecting with identity, healing relational wounds, and moving through life with greater authenticity. I appreciate working with clients who are open to insight, reflection & prompting that supports them in creating meaningful change.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
