You’ve put a lot of time and energy into working on yourself, staying active, and trying to live with intention but it feels like something’s still missing. You think deeply about the meaning of life and the kind of person you want to be, but lately it’s been harder to feel present and close to people you love. Maybe you’ve noticed a growing distance between you and your partner, or becoming a dad has left you unsure of who you are now. Parts of your past may still affect you, shaping how you show up (sometimes in ways you’re not proud of).Even with all your efforts, it feels like you’ve hit a wall with what you can do on your own

Hi, I’m Jae, a therapist who believes that healing happens in relationship, not in isolation. Whether you're here because you're overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or just longing for a deeper sense of connection with yourself or others, I want you to know: you don’t have to do this alone. In fact, none of us should do life's hardest parts alone. Therapy with me will grow your capacity to understand what's going on inside, to be supported, and to trust that it’s okay to let someone in. In the process, you will learn to increase your coping skills, learning to regulate and care for yourself more easily.

I help suffering people permanently resolve long-standing emotional wounds and the shame, guilt, depression, and anxiety that ensue. This only happens in one place; "here and now." Thus, we focus on what is happening in your immediate experience of life. This leads directly to the emotional wound where we can heal it. As emotional pain exists outside of time, so does the cure. We locate the unconscious, emotional truth quickly and begin actively dismantling emotionally-learned beliefs & self-perceptions. It does mean active participation in intensive, brief therapy. This approach works for couples and families as well.

Are you looking for a therapist who will not only listen to you, but also engage in conversation, give you feedback and helpful information to help you navigate not only obstacles you may be facing, but life itself? Now, more than ever people are struggling with anxiety, feelings of sadness, overwhelm and uncertainty about how they are supposed to manage relationships, careers, and their lives. I understand that people often seek therapy to get answers, gain insight, change the way things have been. Pushing away your emotions, needs, and not taking time for yourself may only lead to long-term issues for your mind, body, and life.

My ideal client is a person who is goal-oriented and motivated to change. They understand that therapy is a process that takes time and requires work. They take the therapeutic process seriously and are willing to do things outside of the therapy session, such as reading books or watching videos that address their needs and help develop positive coping skills. They are open-minded and not set in their ways. They are willing to experiment and try new things to expand their mind and open their heart.

I specialize in working with older adults navigating the shifting terrain of aging and medical challenges. They may feel the weight of loss, uncertainty, or new limitations, yet long to preserve their dignity, purpose, and sense of self. Life can feel like a maze, especially when you’re facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or the strain of a difficult relationship. You might feel stuck, unsure how to move forward, or overwhelmed by everything on your plate. Perhaps you’re navigating a legal issue—like a custody battle, a competency concern, or something else that’s both emotionally and mentally exhausting—and you’re looking for clarity and support. Deep down, you want resolution, understanding, and a path toward healing or justice.

I wholeheartedly believe that human connection is built on trust and respect, within a safe space. I honor this belief and bring it into my therapeutic work. I meet each individual I have in front of me where they are, with an open mind and compassion. In doing this, I hope to support you in an inward journey of self-discovery and healing. I'm glad that you have made the step towards taking care of yourself and seeking support from someone that can guide you through this journey of healing. If healing for you means having to process a traumatic event, to perhaps transitioning through difficult moments in life, I'm here for you.

I believe everyone has within them the power to enact change in their own life. However, often people get stuck in patterns of behavior and thinking that are incompatible with their desired changes. That is where therapy comes in! I enjoy working with people to change their thinking, and thus behavior, in order to help them achieve their goals and maximize happiness in all areas of life.

I have worked with children, adults, and older adults, of many cultures, identifications, and statuses, helping them to find self-understanding, acceptance, insight, and fulfillment. Maybe it's people coming to grips with a change, such as divorce or job change, identity, including sexual preference and gender identity, or struggle like social anxiety, hopelessness, or anger. I know that you come to a therapist when you've had enough of whatever is going on. Maybe you see the way forward, but not the steps along the path. I believe you have the power inside you, and everyone needs support, and we work better together.

How can I find a therapist in Morgan Hill?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
