I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. At some point in our lives, we all require the needed support, guidance, and a space to talk about our challenges and stressors. Therapy is a good way to explore underlying issues, develop coping strategies, and gain insight and self-awareness to help you grow and be the best version of your authentic yourself. My approach to therapy is individualized and varies off on the needs of each of my clients. I like to treat every session as an opportunity for progress to be made. I implement an assortment of approaches to meet the needs.

So often, we live our lives focused on surviving and just making it through to the next day. Life stressors, unresolved trauma, pain, excessive worrying, unfulfilled dreams, and hopelessness can make this way of living seem ordinary. Even though a survival mind-set can seem unbreakable, it is possible to take control and create a more fulfilling life. Therapy can provide the space to make this shift possible and help guide you on the path to finding your thriving life.

Inspired by the history of psychoanalysis, my work draws on psychodynamic and existential theories to explore the deeper layers of the self.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” — Carl Gustav Jung. To me, this quote captures the essence of therapy and answers some of the most common questions: What is therapy? Do I need it? Why should I be in it? This is the place to begin. When we find ourselves in darkness—overwhelmed by depression or anxiety, feeling helpless, stuck, or losing hope—it’s easy to forget that we’re not alone. I believe deeply in the inner depth, uniqueness, and complexity of each human being. Therapy offers a space to reconnect with that truth and rediscover clarity, meaning, and direction.

You’ve probably done a lot of thinking before landing here. If you’ve read the books, tried to push through, maybe even done some therapy before, but something still isn’t shifting, I can help. I’m not the kind of therapist who simply listens and nods. I don’t offer surface-level coping tools or endless talking loops. I'm actively engaged in session helping you unravel the patterns that have kept you stuck for so long. If you're feeling lost, misunderstood, or disconnected. I’ve been there too, and you don’t need to figure this out on your own anymore. I won’t pretend to have all the answers, but I will be fully in it with you.

I am trained in many treatment modalities including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, problem solving and others.
My approach to therapy is working with you to get you where you want to be. My goal is to provide help, hope and understanding in a warm and accepting environment. I am a talking therapist as much as I am a listening therapist. What that means is that I listen to the issues you bring; provide feedback and tools for change. I actively engage in conversation with you. A large part of our work is about filling your tool box with tools to create the change you want to see in your life.

It is important to know two things: 1. you are not alone, and 2. challenges are always opportunities to grow and change your life. You are probably here because it's time to "do something different." Let us help guide you through this journey!

Psychodynamic Therapists

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?

Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?

Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?

Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?

Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
