In our world of quick fixes and self-help guides, many of us still feel disconnected and longing for a deeper experience of self. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy offers the opportunity to explore your early relationships and old patterns that may be effecting your ability to feel the vibrance and creativity in your life. I focus on the uniqueness of each psychotherapeutic relationship to explore potential blind spots and areas that have been difficult for you to unravel. I work in a warm and engaging way to assist you in the depths of your self-exploration.
My primary training and interests have been in health psychology and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. There is an abundance of evidence showing enhanced health outcomes when we feel deeply connected to others. Relationship centered psychotherapy explores potential blocks in relatedness which allows for a deepening of self-understanding and self-compassion.
I specialize in treating parents of kids with long-term illness with the resultant issues of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Living with either neurological, auto-immune (oncological) issues is fatiguing and isolating especially while trying to manage new treatments, major lifestyle shifts, and grief/fear. Individual psychotherapy, Support groups available.
