Are you in a place in your life where you need support to untangle what life has thrown at you? When we have the right tools and supports, we all have the power to heal and grow. A core belief I carry into my work is the power of connection. I believe in being vulnerable and transparent, as well as the importance of providing a safe space to do collaborative work.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, author, and retreat facilitator for people seeking healing, growth, and wholeness. With more than 20 years of experience working with diverse populations in healthcare, my work focuses on helping people navigate challenging relationships, high stress jobs, and health problems to find meaning, wellness, and contentment. Although my training and background are in evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), I draw from several modern therapies and ancient practices for an integrative experience that also provides practical support.

Hello! I am now taking new in-person clients. If you are reading this, chances are you may be struggling with parenting, connecting with your partner or building meaningful relationships. Or perhaps you want to better understand your own individual mental health journey. We can often feel overwhelmed and unable to see our role in the problem. This tends to cause anxiety, depression, and can sometimes cause us to turn to substances to cope. Sometimes we just need a little guidance to get us to our goals.

Reaching out can be the most difficult thing to do when dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression or ptsd. Any of these things can make even the simplest things extremely difficult, calling a friend, going outside, self-care, and sometimes just getting out of bed and taking a shower can seem daunting.

I use a trauma-informed approach; I am trained in Brainspotting Phase 1.
As a neurodiversity affirming psychotherapist and Integrative Health Practitioner, my approach to therapy is holistic in nature. Together we can learn ways to develop a deeper sense of understanding, compassion, and acceptance of yourself. I offer an eclectic approach to this work which is Jungian informed, soulful, heart-centered, and intuitive. My work with clients often includes making room for our grief and acknowledging the ways in which grief is not honored in our culture. This work is sacred to me and I am deeply honored to join my clients on their healing journey.

Symptoms are the expression of emotional distress resulting from attachment issues, trauma, and distorted negative beliefs.
Worried? Anxious? Blue? Feelings can be the result of your situation,or they can be triggered by deeper issues such as attachment, trauma, and unprocessed memories. EMDR "turbocharges" the processing of painful memories. Adults, teens, and children with a history of abuse, trauma, and loss can heal quickly. I also specialize in resolving relationship issues and helping families become stronger. Whether you need help to navigate life transitions or to realize your full potential for emotional growth, therapy is a highly interactive process. Together we develop a plan for treatment involving care and commitment. Feel better!

I am passionate about working with anyone who is suffering, especially those who have survived trauma, including interpersonal trauma and cultural trauma that marginalized communities have endured.
Let’s get to the root of your suffering together. Many people seek out therapy because they feel trapped in an endless loop of suffering. This is especially true of trauma survivors. I believe that we can only begin the journey toward wholeness by uncovering the roots of suffering. Then, we can heal by integrating the unconscious aspects of ourselves and our experiences into the conscious fullness of who we are as human beings.

My approach draws from Feminist, Jungian & Buddhist psychologies & weaves together my expertise in women's issues, intergenerational trauma, flow psychology & dream work.
I'm a forest dwelling, Northern California native devoted to helping folks leverage neuroplasticity and treat symptoms at the source. My clients are the seekers with BIG questions, creatives, women and those in search of greater emotional control, healthy boundaries and self-compassion. I believe that good therapy should empower people via the acquisition of new tools, and that it’s through this process we shift from surviving to thriving and begin to self heal. Together, we’ll explore how to break the cycle of burnout, rediscover joy and re-learn how to trust ourselves and others.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
