My work is holistic and integrative, drawing from various evidence-based therapies, such as expressive arts therapy, narrative therapy, EMDR, CBT, tapping, mindfulness practices, and self-compassion therapy.
Sometimes life starts to feel heavier than you ever expected and the things that once felt easy now take all of your energy. Whether you have been carrying the weight of past trauma, have experienced a loss or major life change, are struggling to manage daily anxiety or depression, or you are just tired of feeling stuck, burntout, and overwhelmed... you are not alone. Many of us feel this way and need support to navigate a way forward. I'd be honored to walk this path with you by offering a safe, grounded, and supported space for reflection, growth, and healing.

I also offer Mindfulness and Guided Meditation practices into our work which tends to support and deepen healing.
Do you have trauma, anxiety or depression and feel ready to work on yourself? Perhaps you are new to therapy but feel motivated or inspired to heal and work through emotions, conflicts or blockages to living a more fulfilling life. Have you had other therapies but feel “it’s time” to go deeper and explore root causes of patterns and issues? Do you feel you are in an “awakening“ and hope to work with a Transpersonal Therapist to support the integration of your higher or Whole/Core Self?

These behaviors often stem from early life trauma and/or neglect and we will work on healing these wounds while using mindfulness and other behavioral regulation techniques to address destructive behaviors.
My approach to therapy is embodied in the quote by Sunryu Suzuki: Each of us is perfect the way we are...and we can use a little improvement.  This means that I will help you work through any shame that you feel about your perceived problems so that you can integrate the self-awareness that we will together uncover. I am highly attuned to emotional experience and will help you to understand how unmet emotional needs contribute to destructive thoughts and/or behaviors and how self-acceptance lights the way to deeper connections with others.

I utilize play, art, movement, and mindfulness in my work with kids, teens, and adults.
I believe that therapy can be a powerful tool to build upon or develop skills to manage life's many twists and trials. Therapeutic work can also be extremely effective in improving and changing our relationships. I strive to create a comfortable and supportive environment where individuals feel seen, heard, and respected. I love the work that I do and I believe it is really important to maintain a level of hope that positive change can occur in your life. This hope is especially important for those who've been impacted by trauma and abuse and for new parents struggling to find their way, both populations I have a passion to serve.

I hold a trauma-informed, attachment-focused lens and integrate insight-oriented approaches, parts work, and DBT mindfulness-based strategies.
Hi, I’m Annie (she/her). I know how heavy life can feel when anxiety, depression, or past or ongoing trauma keep pulling you down—especially when you’ve spent years trying to hold everything together. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to shift on their own. If you’re neurodivergent, you may also be exhausted from navigating a world that wasn’t designed with your brain, sensitivity, or lived experiences in mind. In our work together, my intention is to offer a space where you can slow down, feel seen, and explore what’s happening beneath the surface.

I am an outgoing, energetic, anime loving, volleyball enthusiast, who loves to crochet, read different genres of books, and to eat! My main goal in life was to always help people, later I found my love for psychology. So I thought why not become a counselor! As someone who received therapy since high school I know what it's like being on both sides of the couch. It can be daunting talking to a stranger, but with me I provide my authentic self every session. My life experiences allow me to connect more with my clients and establish a strong bond of trust.

Hi there! Many of my clients are high achievers looking for a therapist who will strive to understand their unique circumstances in life. They tend to feel anxious, stuck or empty despite being successful in their careers. They're used to working or living in high-pressure environments and noticing how hard it is to maintain this lifestyle and keep the stress at bay. High performance comes at a cost and many times it’s our mental health that pays the price. Sometimes what has "always worked" just doesn't cut it anymore and it can feel like no matter how much we try, it's not enough.

In treatment, we use mindfulness, EMDR, and somatic approaches to regulate your nervous system and build emotional resilience.
It’s hard to enjoy the present when you’re stuck in your mind. Or sleep when anxiety keeps you overthinking and replaying every possible worst-case scenario that might play out the next day… next week… next YEAR. When you think about it, you realize there’s never a moment when you’re not afraid. How could you not be… when your mind constantly races with every unpredictable, uncontrollable, uncertain, unsteady, and unknown detail that might or might not intersect with your life? And it’s more than just fear. It’s nausea, a racing heart, muscle tension, and shallow breath. Then, you freak out that you’re freaking out!

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
