You deserve to feel seen and live a life of authenticity without the stress and anxiety of being afraid to show others who you are or who you want to be. So often we find ourselves holding back our needs to ensure the needs of others are being met but this pattern leaves many of us feeling lonely and isolated in our relationships. Therapy can be a way to help you achieve the authenticity you are seeking through processing thoughts and feelings that might be getting in your way of showing up for yourself.

For anxiety and self-esteem, we'll work on quieting self-doubt, overthinking, and the pressure to never get it wrong.
My clients are often adolescents and young adults carrying more than anyone realizes: anxiety, depression, OCD, self-doubt, major life transitions, or patterns they can’t seem to break despite wanting things to feel different. You may be high-functioning and successful in many areas of your life, yet still feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the version of yourself that feels grounded and confident. Maybe you understand your patterns but can’t seem to change them, or find yourself repeating the same struggles in relationships, family dynamics, or the way you see yourself.

Today is a good day to heal and transform. Jennifer Stone works from a mindfulness meditation lens with compassion for all that is brought to the session. She holds body sensations, thoughts, emotions and all material with tenderness that can create a safe, accepting container for healing. You will learn to "get out of your head", and trust your body, respond to stress in healthy ways, and grow self-love and confidence. She uses a combination of tools from a trauma informed lens in psychotherapy sessions, including mindfulness meditation, IFS, CBT, visualization, breath practices, and somatic inquiry to get to root of the problem.

I help individuals and couples who feel stuck, disconnected, or "not enough" develop a deeper understanding of themselves, break patterns that do not serve them, and move through life with greater clarity, self-confidence, and aligned meaning.
My work is relational, trauma-informed, and insight-driven. Drawing from psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work), and somatic approaches, I help individuals and couples understand internal patterns, process emotional overwhelm, shift self-doubt, and heal complex and inherited trauma. Our work supports lasting, meaningful change.

Do you feel stuck in patterns you can't seem to break? Are you navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, or a life transition that's thrown everything off balance and left you uncertain about what comes next? Maybe part of you is ready for something different, while another part feels overwhelmed. You sense your life and your relationships could feel better than this and you may be wondering if there is more. I get how unsettling it is to feel off course and believe change isn't out of reach. It just takes the right kind of support to get there.

I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and safe enough to bring whatever is weighing on you, whether that is anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, or the lasting effects of past trauma.
Unlike quick fixes or generic advice, I use an individualized approach tailored to your specific needs and goals. My style is warm, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity. Rather than only managing symptoms, I look at the underlying dynamics that keep old patterns in place, so what we work on shows up in daily life, not just in session.

In my time as a therapist I have helped families, children, and couples develop communication skills, build self-esteem, and navigate difficult times.
Drop the heavy burden labeled 'NOT. GOOD. ENOUGH.' EMDR helps you file those old memories in the past, so you can walk lighter. I help perfectionists, people pleasers, and overthinkers by shifting deep beliefs and turning thoughts such as "I must be perfect to be loved" into "I don't have to prove myself all the time".

I work with high-achieving leaders and creatives looking for meaning, direction, purpose, and efficacy, particularly around late-20s to mid-40s life milestones in work, relationships, and personal and creative expression. Together we will explore and confront the limiting beliefs, inner critic, and relational and communication challenges that keep you feeling stagnant and stuck, while nurturing your personal authority and self-expression. Other areas of exploration often include: emotional literacy and regulation, self-advocacy in work and relationships, intentional lifestyle design, core beliefs and values, and personal history.

You are capable and thoughtful; you are the anchor for everyone else. But behind the scenes, you are running on empty and feeling the heavy cost of always putting yourself last. Whenever a relationship feels shaky or life feels up in the air, your brain goes into overdrive. You get stuck in a mental loop: replaying conversations and trying to read between the lines just to feel a sense of control. To quiet that quiet panic, you jump into fix-it mode, taking on the emotional heavy lifting to make sure everyone else is comfortable, while completely draining your own needs.

I work with thoughtful, capable adults navigating anxiety, overthinking, relationship stress, and intense emotional reactions. You may replay conversations long after they’ve happened, struggle to stay present, or find yourself reacting in ways that don’t fully align with who you want to be. While you’ve likely managed a great deal on your own, you’re ready for deeper understanding, healthier patterns, and more intentional ways of navigating your life and relationships.

Are you ready to take control over your life and no longer be a victim of life circumstances? I help people empower themselves to make the changes they want to see by giving them understanding of where these obstacles came from and how they can actively change their own life. I work with resistance to change rather than against it, and I get to the root of the problem so that you can free yourself from whatever is blocking you to live your best life.

If you’re here, it probably means something in your life is asking to be felt, seen, or understood. Maybe you’re carrying exhaustion, confusion, or pain that no one notices, or navigating identity, relationships, or systems that feel rigid or unwelcoming. Maybe you just need a place to breathe, to slow down, and unpack the weight without having to fix it all at once. Here, you can show up fully as yourself—messy, curious, evolving—and be met with care, affirmation, and space to exist and grow at your own rhythm.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.
What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.
What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.
How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
