I have a proven method for finding the root of every life challenge.
I have extensive experience in treating both anxiety and depression and approach these areas by exploring the possibilities of unresolved pain and anger. I also love working with women and men who have recovered or who are still in dysfunctional relationships.

With 23 years of experience, I specialize in supporting women as they navigate life transitions such as marriage, divorce, military life, raising children, career changes, loss of roles or employment, empty nest, menopause, and other significant shifts in life.
I am deeply passionate about this work because I have witnessed countless women rediscover joy, confidence, and fulfillment by trusting the process and allowing themselves to be truly heard. Clients often tell me our sessions feel like a conversation with a trusted friend, while also recognizing the meaningful growth and insight that emerge along the way.

Are you ready to get past a longstanding problem or manage a life transition?
I specialize in making relationships, attitudes and habits focus like a laser beam on the life goal you're seeking. I use many tools and handouts in my work but here are three tools a lot of my clients get to experience and grow from: 1) 16Personalities.com (like the Meyers-Briggs) assessment 2) Gallup StrengthsFinders2.0 assessment 3) "Seven Habits".

Life can be challenging, but you are not alone.
I offer one-on-one sessions along with groups and couples too. For those that are concerned about the financial component, find that group sessions are a reasonable substitute for individual sessions. If you are unsure of your career path, I offer career assessments too.

Big Bear, CA 92314
As a long time resident of Big Bear, I am familiar with the organizations, activities, groups, meetings, etc in the community, and often refer clients to life enhancing resources.
I most enjoy working with clients who are willing to look within and accept responsibility (not blame) for their thoughts, feelings and behavior. I feel especially honored to work with clients who have had traumatic childhood experiences, including sexual abuse. Although these events can have devastating consequences, I have found that survivors of childhood trauma can also be catapulted to higher than usual levels of consciousness and well-being when the traumas are healed. In other words, therapy is a very gratifying journey to walk with a client. I work well with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, eating disorders and dissociative disorders.

I help individuals build healthy relationships with themselves and others, aiming to enhance your quality of life in about 10 sessions.
Progress seems elusive no matter how hard you try to make things go right. It's frustrating that good intentions often miss the mark in communication and understanding. You might feel like you're losing your mind as you attempt to connect with a specific person or struggle to build satisfying relationships. The desire to be fully heard and understood can feel overwhelming, as if you want to scream. But remember, it's in these moments of struggle that change is possible. It sounds like you are ready to begin shedding toxic mindsets that are keeping you from the safe, honest connections you desire to have with others.

A Greek philosopher told us the only thing constant is change; it seems life is full of changes and challenges.
After many years in emergency medicine and education, I found a robust passion for clinical counseling. My work is based in narrative therapy, with emphasis on a mindful, practical balance of what works for the individual, couple, or family. I am a Certified Grief Specialist with additional expertise in issues related to gender and sexuality.

Life Coaching Therapists
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
