My aim is to assist clients in being happier, healthier, and stronger as they encounter the hurdles that the different phases of life can bring. Whether those hurdles are internal, interpersonal or professional, most clients walk out of sessions feeling understood, really seen, smarter about themselves and their situation, and with real tools to positively affect their lives. Often interpersonal relationships prove the most challenging over time, triggering defensive/protective reactions that usually make things worse. Working in these arenas can bring valuable awareness, and offer pathways to challenge and change perspectives.

I have extensive experience working with such clinical disorders as bipolar/ manic depression and depression, and offer spiritual, life, and dating coaching as well.
Do you feel guilty about things you've said and done? Do you lose sleep because of these feelings? Would you like to forgive yourself? What about repairing or rebuilding your relationships? We all think about our relationships during our lives. Yet this "unfinished business" can be an energy drain, robbing us of vitality and preventing us from having the life we truly want. Left unchecked, it can lead to depression and anxiety. One of life's most important processes is the act of forgiveness -- a process which rids us of self-loathing and bitterness so that we won't live in constant anguish.

Lack of Motivation, Addiction, & Relationship Issues - The 3 most common presenting problems in my practice today. Whether you’re dealing with any combination of the 3, or something else entirely, actualizing your potential is the way forward. I don't believe rehashing past experiences to no end is helpful. While talking about past experiences may be an important part of our work, growth manifests through present integration. Being as honest and direct as possible is the best way to demonstrate how I'm not here to waste your time. If we share this value, my style of therapy may be right for you.

Struggling with addiction & feel rehab isn’t an option? Want to adjust your relationship with a substance instead of being told you must quit? Leaving your family, job, school or responsibilities for an extended period of time is not always needed to get yourself healthy & on track. If you or a loved one are struggling with addiction, I know the challenges of this lifestyle. Being caught in the cycle of addiction is hard-feelings of anxiety, guilt, & shame. You may have tried cutting back or stopping on your own, only to find yourself engaging in the same unhelpful behavior. I specialize in Moderation & abstinence based approaches.

Being hu man is difficult, trying to do this on our own is probably not in anyones best interest.
Being a hu man being is an amazing, terrifying, and sometimes really confusing and painful experience. We all live through these things, some of us are more familiar with depression, anxiety, avoidance, or hyper fixation on trying to control everything so that you KNOW that it's all the way it should be. These are just a few of the symptoms of the hu man condition. When we can step back and look at them with a different set of tools we can build awareness of how we may be able to approach these feelings with a more useful perspective. This leads us to feeling more grounded and in control of our physical, mental, and spiritual goals.

Does it seem like your relationship is out of balance? All you and your partner do, it seems like, is fight? Where there was a feeling of peace and harmony, now just feels like a heavy fog of uncertainty. Is there an issue of infidelity and trust has eroded. At one point you and your partner could communicate, but now you struggle to get your message across. Come in and let's talk.

COUPLES - At some point, many partners find themselves stuck in cycles of negative interactions which keep them drifting apart, robbing them of the happiness and intimate connection they once felt.
I work with couples, individuals, and teens seeking help with relationships, grief, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, or depression. If any of these make some days a struggle or keep you from enjoying life, I'd like to invite you to talk with someone with compassion who can appreciate your struggle. Counseling can bring real change to reach decisions, manage conflicts, handle stress, improve relationships, or work on deeper personal matters. You'll feel truly heard and valued as we explore as much or as little as you want at a pace and direction of your choosing.

"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" This question, asked by poet Mary Oliver, cuts to the core of what our work is about. Put more simply, what do you want? This is a safe place where that question can be asked multiple times and from multiple angles to help you get clear on the life you want to live. I specialize in working with high-achieving men and wo men going through life transitions, stress at work, and those who are dealing with issues around relationships, depression, and anxiety. Marriage and relationships are challenging and it is even harder to ask for what you want. Often people believe they are broken or their desires are shameful and I work to create change and facilitate communication. As a licensed psychotherapist, specializing in sex therapy, I work to help individuals, partners, and couples to connect. It is my passion to heal shame, have the hard talks, and facilitate communication. Personally, I know the challenges of maintaining the passion in a long term relationship and I don't believe it is normal to give up on intimacy.
