My practice is rooted in a non-judgment curiosity-driven approach incorporating compassion, spirituality , mindfulness, existentialism, and humor.
What meaning are you making about your struggles? It seems that we are meaning-making creatures constantly trying to make sense of our experiences and what happens to us through a complex multilayered personalized lens of meaning-making. A lens affected by cultural, societal, religious & spiritual beliefs–to name a few–and it serves as our internal GPS navigating us, as best as we can, through our life’s many challenges. Our unique individual approach to meaning-making also becomes the breeding ground of the stories we create and articulate about our life. However, sometimes the Stories We Create Cause More Pain Than The Experience.

Whether you are struggling to get through the daily grind, or feel ready to fly through the stars, I can work with you collaboratively to shape a life that fulfills your highest dreams, and maybe even soars beyond them! I’m eager to share what I’ve learned about our abilities to break out of old patterns of shame, hurt, and fear into fruitful creativity and communion with the most inspiring aspects of being alive.

I work with a variety of issues including depression, addictions, grief, mid-life crisis, relationships, parenting, spirituality .
I provide a safe environment in which to explore and develop insight into patterns in your life. I am a Certified Jungian Analyst, working from a Jungian-oriented perspective, helping to develop a relationship between the conscious and unconscious. People often seek a therapist due to a crisis, or possibly because they've developed an awareness that something is not working in their lives anymore. We will work together to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, so that you can change old patterns and live your life with integrity, authenticity and meaning. Thus, our work becomes a practice that tends to soul.

I am a therapist and energy healer who works at the intersections of healing, spirituality , and social change. I support people on their journeys of liberation and reclaiming their sovereignty and wholeness. Prior to being a therapist, I worked as an immigrant rights attorney. I wanted to support people in getting free from oppressive and broken systems. Over time, I realized that we deeply internalize many of these oppressive systems and I became more interested in how we can liberate our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls from their harm and reinforcement.

I enjoy working with people who want support as they engage in self-exploration and attempt to make sense of the complexity and intersections of their identities, including race and ethnicity, spirituality , sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. I also believe that it is important for the people I work with to approach therapy as more than a culmination of sessions, but as part of a lifestyle and commitment to take time and space to prioritize one’s health. Additionally, I understand the power of self-study and that my role as a psychologist is to provide guidance and reminders as people connect with themselves and others.

As an Asian-American with extensive experience living overseas, I also specialize in issues related to intercultural issues, cross-cultural adjustment, burnout, identity formation, spirituality , and grief/loss.
Many of us appear to be functioning well in life, but in reality feel like imposters, often stressed and unsatisfied in our lives and relationships. I foster the discovery of genuine peace and fulfillment through "undoing aloneness," helping clients embrace their best and worst selves, and unearthing a more self-compassionate and authentic way of being. My clients are typically individuals and couples, seeking treatment for anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, and a wide variety of relational issues.

I provide individual counseling as well as various group opportunities ( Spirituality Groups, Coming Out and other LGBTQ Therapy Groups) to assist on your Healing Journey.
I believe that the psychotherapeutic journey is an Inner Journey ~ one in which we're traveling to find that which we have lost ~ in a word, our Selves. While it is usually some form of disillusion - depression, anxiety, relationship pain ~ that brings us into therapy, we discover that we are on a journey to find home ~ a place of safety, of freedom, of rest. Sooner or later, we learn that the home we are searching for is not to be found outside ourselves but, rather, within. If you are ready to deepen in your own journey, I am here to walk with you.

I believe we are all renegades, worthy of living a life of liberated love. Our binary world makes it challenging to feel accepted, leaving us fragmented and hindering our ability to connect with ourselves and others. I strive to create a safe and affirming space for clients to engage and connect with their whole self. I am passionate about working with individuals, partners, and the LGBTQIA+ community struggling with libido, erectile issues, self-esteem, trauma, spirituality , desire discrepancy, infidelity, intimacy, gender identity, and sexual orientation. My ideal clients are ready to fully show up and claim their pleasure.

My specialities are relationship work, spirituality , parenting, women's issues, life adjustments and students (college and high school).
I have been trained in a unique approach called Process Work, developed by Dr. Arnold Mindell. Process work is a dynamic and transformative approach which uses Jungian psychology, Taoism and physics. It offers new ways of working with problematic or painful experiences. Relationship challenges, physical symptoms, career conflicts and social tensions are approached with curiosity, respect and creativity. In using process work, I believe that the solution to a problem is contained within the disturbance itself; and I provide practical ways through which individuals, couples and groups can connect with a greater awareness.

I use humor, spirituality , and radical love to support you.
Childhood is the single most important predictor of well being in human development. Many of us have buried painful memories into our subconscious. By approaching the issues holistically, we will help you live the life you deserve and want. Wellness, in its literal definition means a healthy balance of the mind, body and spirit. My role as a therapist is to guide you toward finding that balance and connection to self. We will explore how your thoughts, emotions, body, childhood experiences, relationships, and current environment are contributing to your distress and healing.

Spirituality Therapists

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?

Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?

There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?

Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?

Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
