I believe the world could be a better place if we could all be kinder to one another. Working together and building strong connections can be helpful when struggling with life’s ups and downs. As a therapist, I help with academic issues, body image, self-esteem, self-harm, technology addiction, and sexual assault. I use a holistic, patient-centered approach to create a safe and supportive environment. By rewiring the brain, we create changes in our thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors.

Clients seeking to change need to have a new EXPERIENCE in session; talking is not the same thing as changing. We will use a range of strategies to create a new experience of yourself. I am an EMDR certified therapist and using EMDR, can address long-term difficulties such as relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, low-self-esteem. EMDR is also used with great results for individuals who have had a recent distressing incident such as a car accident, break in, assault, etc. I use a variety of out-of-the-box strategies to create new possibilities in how you experience yourself and others.

My areas of speciality include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, sexual assault/trauma and disordered eating.
Do you feel unsatisfied in your relationships or in your work life? Do you notice yourself facing the same issue time and time again? Perhaps you find yourself second-guessing every decision or just never feeling like you are “good enough.” If this sounds familiar, I can help. Through a relationship characterized by safety and trust, I will support you to uncover the unhelpful beliefs, underlying emotions, and past experiences that are keeping you stuck. In doing so, you will learn to make better choices, turn goals into realities, and find a greater sense of peace in your day-to-day life.

I have experience in couples work, sexual abuse, physical abuse, developmental trauma, sex/love/porn addiction, depression, and anxiety.
Life has a way throwing curve balls. From unexpected challenges to fluctuating deadlines, life sometimes causes us to feel like we are aiming for a moving target. Relationships are guaranteed to have pitfalls that can surprise anyone. Trauma often is the leftover when a home or society is not welcoming, when violence has been perpetrated on you, or when you are faced with overwhelming loss. You will need access to your internal resources when addressing past and present trauma. Living life with a centered mindfulness can help guide you to wholeness.

Also, I'm trained in Attachment Focused EMDR (EMDRIA Certified) and Trauma Resiliency Model which focuses on PTSD, long-term exposure to neglect, physical, and sexual abuse, and drug and alcohol dependency.
Most of us come into therapy seeking change. Maybe we hurt too much, feel lonely, depressed, anxious, or hate our job. Our relationship might be faltering or we're feeling overwhelmed by the family. What I've learned is that we come into therapy thinking that we have one story, or narrative, and that narrative is set and fixed. I believe we've forgotten that we have a multitude of stories, or alternative narratives. Those alternative narratives can be discovered and shed light on new options and possibilities, while expanding our understanding of what we once believed was unalterable.

Trauma comes in many forms and it can remain in your body long after the traumatic events have occurred. Left untreated, this can lead to long-term issues like chronic pain, unstable and intense emotions, depression, anxiety, insomnia, panic attacks, and feelings of shame and worthlessness. Trauma can be a single significant event, like an an assault or a natural disaster. Trauma can be growing up with an unstable and abusive caregiver unable to meet your emotional needs. Or, it can be ongoing bullying over time that left you with a pervasive feeling that there is something wrong with you.
